An extremely insightful four-hour tour, leisurely covering about 6 miles (10 kilometers) by bike. This pervasive tour covers why Berlin was divided and how, the Berlin Airlift, tales of espionage by both the Allies and feared East German secret police (Stasi), the downfall of communism, how Berlin is dealing with its past and much, much more.
Your tour begins with an orientation to the Berlin Wall and the route you will follow, before hopping on your comfortable bikes. You will bike along several noteworthy boulevards of former East Berlin while the tour makes it's way to the Bernauer Strasse Memorial, a former crossing point between East and West.
You will also hear about escape attempts, ghost train stations, and espionage. During the tour you will gain insight into what life was like in the shadow of the Wall and how the city still copes with it's divided past today.行程概要出發地點

Safety:
Because there is so much to see in Berlin and this city is so bike friendly, simply the best way to see this city is by bike. The tour takes advantage of the many bike paths the city offers - more than 95% of the tour is on bike paths and through parks. When you do ride on the streets, ride along the less-traveled roads. All insurance is included.
Bikes:
Ultra-hard seats? Razor-thin tires? Not on this tour! With new curvy beach cruisers these bikes are the pinnacles of city-biking comfort. With cushy seats, fat tires and handlebars that come up to meet you, it just doesn't get more relaxed. Of course these bikes perform as well. There are vice-like brakes to make sure you stop quickly. And with multiple gears, you can choose your level of pedal-pushing effort (all bikes also come with fun bells and unique names making these quite possibly the coolest bikes on the planet).
Weather:
Ride rain or shine. The weather in Berlin can vary quickly, so you may want to bring a light jumper or rain jacket. The bikes come equipped with bike racks if you don't need to wear it. Also, a limited number of gloves and rain jackets are available, but again, it's better to be on the safe side and plan ahead.
Regardless if this is your first trip to Berlin of if you already feel like "ein Berliner", this is a great way to see the city and understand what makes Berlin so special. Here are just some of the many reasons why:

I would highly recommend this educational, yet entertaining, tour of Berlin focused on the Berlin Wall and the Cold War. Our tour guide, PB, was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and led us through the city with ease. My husband, 12 year old son and I were all impressed by how much we learned on the tour while still having a fantastic time touring the city and socializing with our fellow tour goers. it was great being able to associate such important historic events with the sites at which they occurred. We went on the Berlin City Tour offered by Fat Tire Bikes on the day prior to this tour and were equally impressed with the tour as well as our guide, Alex. We will certainly being seeking out Fat Tire Bike tours in the future as we visit other cities.

This was a great tour, our guide Daniel managed to explain a pretty complex period of history in a really manageable way and he always took the time to answer any questions in detail and offer additional insight. The bikes were in great condition and the beauty of Berlin is it's flat so the cycling was very leisurely and manageable for all ages and abilities. Key sites of interest were taken in and there was enough time given at each key point to hop of the bikes and take a closer look.

I could not believe how much Berlin had changed since I was there in 1989. Bicycle is a great way to see it all. Don't go if you can't ride a bicycle!

This was my favorite tour during our trip to Berlin. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the former East Berlin. The lunch stop was perfect and certainly inexpensive. I felt very safe riding a bike on this tour.

One of my favourites tours in Berlin. Our American guid was very friendly, helpfull nd with big knowdledge of details about this time of history. Strongly recomend this tour to anybody.

Alex was hands down the best tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the history of Berlin. I would recommend finding out when Alex from Canada is doing a tour and try and attend his. He can tell you some great places to eat and other amazing things to visit. The ride was very easy, and there were frequent stops allowing for multiple fitness levels. If you're not interested in history that's cool, you will def enjoy this no matter what!
