    產品介紹

On this Cold War walking tour through Berlin, discover the city’s Cold War-related sites and remember the nearly 45 years of political conflict that came to an end in 1991 with the fall of the Soviet Union.
Your expert guide will describe the duties of the border guards, the Soviet and Allied forces and the Stasi, as well as the CIA during the Cold War. Find out what happened to the German Democratic Republic (GDR) leadership, including Erich Honecker, Walter Ulbricht and Wilhelm Pieck. See and touch the remains of the Berlin Wall, which divided East and West Berlin for about 30 years, find outwhat life was like in the Eastern Bloc's most Stalinist state and hear stories about successful and failed escapes from the GDR.
As you walk from site to site, hear about the military tension between the United States and its NATO allies and the Soviet Union and its allies. See hidden areas of the Death Strip, and learn about how the MI6 and the CIA tunneled the Berlin Wall and Soviet Zone and tapped the Red Army's secret communications.
See the monumental former Soviet Embassy (today the Russian Embassy), located on the grand boulevard 'Unter den Linden' - in the heart of the enemy. See how it reflects the Stalinist architecture and stands out from those of the other structures on the boulevard. Discover intelligence points of the CIA, KGB and Stasi, and learn about their surveillance techniques and equipment. Hear about former eastern Germans in present society, from former Stasi agents to every-day citizens -- what do they miss about the GDR?

We had a superb time with Walid!
He is an amazing guide on this tour as he detailed the stories behind each historical places, buildings, streets. He was able to explain it beautifully as if we were back in time especially the start and fall of the Berlin Wall.
It's been the most enjoyable and knowledgeable trip we had, it is highly recommended!

Did this tour with my OH and 12 year old son on our last full day in Berlin. Tour was well paced and very interesting. Barnaby, a Brit, from Insider Tour was a fantastic guide who was genuinely passionate about the subject matter and kept the tour interesting with anecdotes and humour, which is much needed when discussing the Cold War! The pace of the tour was good and gave us the chance to see more of Berlin using the trams and trains. The only thing that could have made the tour better was a departure point nearer to us, as we travelled to Zoological Garten from Hackerscher Markt only to go return to Freidrikstrasse to start the tour. Highly recommended.

Really great and informative. Rowan, the guide was knowledgeable and personable. I would absolutely recommend this tour.

A very interesting tour, that involves walking, trains and trams. The tour guide was a passionate person when shareing his views however, when we came to the end it was a bit baffling on why the tour ended up where we did, maybe I missed something, not sure??
Don't let the picture fool you, the tour goes now where near Check Point Charlie, so you will have to find another one for this.

I had Mike as a guide, and he was excellent. He has studied History and maintains an interest that really adds life to the tour. He took us to places normally not included on tours, and also skipped Checkpoint Charlie as there was a much better location to tell the story of crossing from West to East.
I highly recommend the tour, they were well organized and we didn’t waste a lot of time getting going, and we actually went longer than expected because of all the questions.
They don’t mention in the ad that you will need an all day transit pass, as we took several trains and trams during the tour.

    Expected more.

It was a bad day when we went on the tour because it was raining and it was windy and cold. The tour guide Taylor told us where to buy umbrellas and train tickets for the tour. He is Australian and spoke perfect English so it was great. But there was quite a lot of walking to do and I was a little disappointed that it did not include Checkpoint Charlie and the real Berlin wall in the tour. Also the place where we were to meet, Zoological Gardens station near McDonald's was quite hard to find, we had to ask for directions.

Taylor from Australia was very good and knowledgeable. The weather was bad but the experience was thoroughly enjoyable in spite of it because of our excellent guide.

An excellent 4 hour Cold War walking tour. Our guide, Ronan, was very informative around the subject and made the tour both enjoyable and humourous. We were a group of 4 people, including two 16 year olds, studying the cold war as part of their upcoming exams and it was an excellent tour to bring the subject to life, especially around the wall and what life was like for many East Berliners during that time

  • Angela G (2018-03-30)5

Rohan took us to some key places and explained their significance in such a way it made history come to life. The personal stories of people who were separated from their families when the wall went up, to a border guard who defected famous photo capturing that very moment all made the tour so insightful. Ronan used the right combination of facts with humour to lighten the mood somewhat. I would highly recommend this tour as the history is so recent and important.
