A famously laid-back Scandinavian city, Helsinki is relaxed yet vibrant with a host of exciting attractions that beg to be discovered. Architecture harks back to days of Russian and Swedish rule, and the city’s maritime heritage gives its history an interesting edge. So hop aboard your comfortable, open-top, double-decker bus and discover sightseeing opportunities galore.
Admire top city attractions such as Senate Square home to Helsinki Cathedral and Temppeliaukio Church, a place of worship and concert venue that is carved from local bedrock. Pass the functionalist Lasipalatsi building or perhaps hop off at the Market Square, Helsinki’s most international and famous market.
With your ticket, you can remain on the bus for an entire loop (roughly 1.5 hours) as you listen to the informative audio commentary, or you can hop on and off at any of the 18 stops around the city to explore Helsinki’s countless delights. The ticket is valid for the red City Sightseeing buses and green Hop on Hop off buses.

This is really the best way to see this city. You are in control to where you want to get off or stay.

Unfortunately we had rain the entire time we were in Helsinki! Stormma hop on hop off bus was ok. Had long waits at each stop. Noticed that other companies had a more frequent service.

Definitely worth the money. We got the tickets for the hop on/hop off for the first day here, to just relax and get to know the city. The bus route is great, it gets you everywhere, and is probably very close to almost any hotel that someone would be staying at in the downtown area. Definitely helped us get familiar with Helsinki and where we might want to spend more time. The earphones are provided as you get on the bus, and there are volume controls and several languages. My mom has hearing aids and she was able to hear with no problems. It was a beautiful day so they had the top open, we sat out in the sun, a little windy but really pleasant. Four stars instead of five because the map was a little confusing and the buses are different. We took a handout from our hotel with the same logo as the tour, and went to stop 18 to wait for the bus. However the bus stop was labeled 10 even though it said Hop on Hop off, and the bus came pretty fast. But when we got on, the driver said we had the wrong map, he gave us a new one, which then meant we actually got on at stop 10. Luckily the two stops were in the same spot, but for those who have the wrong map it might be somewhat of a cluster to figure it all out. The maps were indistinguishable as far as logo, company title, both were red and said Helsinki Hop On/Hop Off etc. We took the bus to the end, and then got off that bus and onto one that was leaving to start the tour from the beginning. The second bus had a completely different narrative, so the descriptions of the sights were not the same as the first bus we were on. This wasn't a huge deal, but I would definitely recommend riding more than one bus because the second one had a better narrative and offered more information about the stops.

First day there Were missed location due to marathon. Also did not go until 4 pm. Difficult to find correct Hop on Hop off red bus. Terrible waste of money. Buy a Helsinki card instead.
Give it 1/2 star -
I loved it! Loved the friendly Finnish, most of whom spoke English. Adored the Vantaa Music Festival of Early music.
Beautiful performances without exception, in the exquisite little church of St Lawrence's. The concerts provided a wonderful evening focus. I visited Helsinki each day to explore the Design Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, to name only two and very much enjoyed the craft market and a boat trip around the islands.
The only thing that was difficult was that things were hugely expensive. I got round that by eating a mammoth breakfast in the very comfortable Original Sokos Hotel, Vantaa. In the evening, after returning from the concerts, I would find something more modest to eat in the local supermarket.
One of the things that impressed me most was the transport system. Frequent trains and buses allowed me to travel with much less fear than over here. They were always completely on time - no leaves on the line... I was able to rely on them to get me home late at night from the concerts. There were other women walking around at night and I felt reasonably safe. By the time I left, I only wished I could stay longer to explore the National parks and perhaps travel further North and perhaps to experience the thrill of the National Air Guitar Championships!
I had a wonderful time. People were always friendly and helpful and I didn't want to come home. -
Make sure you go see all the statues - very interesting.

Great way to visit the city. The bus met us at the pier. We traveled around the city visually seeing the sights. Then we took a second trip around the city and got off the bus at sights we wanted to see in more depth. This was perfect!

We've done many hop on hop off and they are nearly always the best way to get an overview of a city... Helsinki no exception.

Good tour

The hop-on-hop-off bus tour was great.........but buses were infrequent. One bus was filled before we had a chance to get on......after waiting 1/2 hr for it. There was a large crowd trying to get on. We had to wait an additional hr to get on the next bus and even then we had to stand. Recommend more frequent buses during tourist season.
