Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Old Town Square
Meet your guide in central Prague at Old Town Square and board on a private bus to Terez□n Concentration Camp. On the way, learn about Terez□n’s past as a 18th-century fortress, and how, in WWII, its walled garrisons were converted into a Nazi concentration camp. Hear how the rail line your train is following is the very same one used during the war to transport Jewish people to the complex.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Terezin Memorial, Terezin, Usti nad Labem Region, Bohemia
Your tour focuses on Terez□n’s Main Fortress, the part of the camp that became a ghetto for Jewish people from across Europe. Walk through the gate emblazoned with arbeit macht frei or 'work sets you free', and take a guided tour around the grounds and buildings that mark the horrors that took place here.
Hear how an estimated 35,000 people perished in Terez□n, and learn about the conditions endured by those incarcerated here. See the barracks, prison cells and Jewish prayer room, and view the former SS camp headquarters and guards station.
As you walk, listen to the story of how Terez□n was presented to International Red Cross monitors as a vibrant Jewish community, with leisure facilities, shops and theatre and music shows. Learn about this cruel farce and how, despite unspeakable suffering, many Jews managed to keep hope alive. Explore the museum that tells some of the prisoners’ stories and displays drawings made by some of the children. Watch a Nazi propaganda film about the camp, and walk around the moving Jewish cemetery, crematorium and columbarium. While visits here can be distressing, your guide will provide sensitive commentary throughout.
Duration: 6 hours
Stop At: Old Town Hall
Afterwards, travel back to central Prague by private bus, where the tour ends where it starts (5 - 10 min walking distance from Old Town Square).
Duration: 1 hour

Really heartbreaking but excellent tour. Our guide Krystina was extremely knowledgeable and the tour was well laid out and paced. Cried multiple times. It is so difficult to really see these horrors but so glad these tours exist to help educate and inform the world. Highly recommend!!

This tour was eye opening. The tour guide was very good. It is tough to hear about what people went through at Terezin and to see the conditions they lived in. I'm glad I did this tour, I learned a lot.

This tour was pretty much a disappointment. Not the camp itself, which was moving and arresting and full of information, but the way the trip was handled. There were at least two incredibly tasteless “jokes” during the tour - one from a passenger who asked if the group photo was to identify us in case we died on the tour, and another from the guide about giving everyone numbers in the future to keep track of us. I asked, and the company/guide, Brian S., had no plan for how to handle such offenses, not even announcing behavioral expectations at the beginning of the tour. The group was far too large, ~30 people when it should have been at least half. The info Brian provided was mostly relevant and interesting but not always well-conveyed (i.e., his explanation of how WWI started) and he sometimes seemed to have trouble showing us around (i.e., at the start of the museum portion of the tour). I’d definitely recommend visiting this site, but not with this tour company or guide.

I really enjoyed this tour. The guide Brian was extremely knowledgeable. Additionally, he made sure that everyone is accounted for and even provided water. The ride was comfortable. A lot of information was presented and this is probably the highlight of my CZ trip. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Brian Stewart was a wonderful guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Terezin, particularly during the period of the twentieth century. The anecdotes he told about the inmates of the ghetto during the Nazi regime made the visit extremely moving.
Wear good shoes during this tour there is a lot of walking! And bring lunch or a snack.
Very worthwhile journey.

This is an excellent, highly educational tour. It was one of the highlights of our time in Prague.

This was an excellent tour, covered the key historical features of fortress and subsequent use by the Nazis during World War 2 as a concentration camp for Jews. In this regard, men, women and children were held here until transported to camps in the east. Many died here as well. The camp also served as propaganda for the Nazis who used parts of it to show the world that Jews were treated well by them. The forced incarceration of children here can be easily compared to current American practices where refugee children are separated from family and housed in cages. This camp should be visited by any concerned with human rights as a reminder these issues are still with us. The guide was very knowledgeable, the pace was brisk but manageable, the bus trip comfortable.

Brilliant trip. Very moving at times but well worth the visit. Our guide, Terry, was very knowledgeable and enthusiatic which added greatly to the experience. While we often wander off and do things on our own, we were happy to keep with her and listen to the stories and details she provided. Well worth signing up for if you are visiting the area.
-
All we can say is the tour is very well worth the time and money! Our guide for the day, Terry, was one of the most knowledgeable tour guides weve had. And very personable and passionate about what she is talking about. We did not take many pictures as we did not want to take away from the actual visit and the information being given. A few hints...pack a small but light lunch/snacks and water, and wear comfortable walking shoes. Not too many places to get something as you are constantly moving throughout the Terez□n area.
-
A hard but very worthwhile and meaningful experience.
