Get lost in the land of beer during this tasty 1.5-hour beer tour in Prague. The Czech Republic has one of the highest beer consumption rates in the world and Czechs have been drinking beer for thousands of years. The secret of their beer is in the land, which is one of the best agricultural regions for growing hops.
Brewing was first recorded by Bohemian monks in 990 AD at the BYevnov Monastery near Prague Castle and continues to be an important part of Czech life today. Immersing yourself in this tradition, sample beers from three major mass-producing Czech breweries as well as four specialty beers from local Prague microbreweries and brew houses. Learn how to examine the aspect, aroma, taste, body and finish of the different varieties you taste and enjoy each one.

This was the 1 out of 9 Viator planned tours that we were very excited about! Pilsner beer and Cheese in Prague── so looking forward to it!! But IT DUD NOT HAPPEN!!! The directions to the joining spot were very unclear: “ in the alleyway by this ....museum”. We looked up the museum, asked locals about the directions, looked on our GPS and we walked for an hour looking for the spot to no success. Our joining spot needed to be more local and more clear. We even tried calling the phone number and did not get a response. An expensive no show for us. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Great tour guide and he was hot. He taught us all about the beers and explained a lot in a short time. It would be nice to have had time to finish the beers though, we were rushed out of an empty bar, its not like we didn't pay for our beers.

Givi was great - really knowledgeable, kept everyone's interest by asking us questions and engaging the group, and shared a ton of information in a short amount of time without appearing rushed or impatient. The venue was a cool little bar along Old Town Square and the cheese and crackers were good between samples. We sampled 7 lagers, and not tiny little tasters either! Givi explained each, mingling the breweries and history of beer along the way. Very informative - if you're interested in history and trying Czech beers in a low-key group, I recommend this tour.

Guide was really into beer! I went to the tour knowing the basic process for the making of beer but afterwards feel that I know how to taste these processes. Really wonderful--what better place to learn about beer!?

It was kind of a personal experience. The group was small, a couple from UK, a German lady and me another solo female traveller. We had a good time try out 7 different beers. Paul, our guide, is a very experienced beer-sommelier, he knows his stuff well and he explained well the beer making process. I'd love to know more about the personal aspect of his beer experience, though. After the tour, I can at least choose my beer correctly for my taste from now on. If you want to know more about Czech beer, but not into party/pub scene, and have limited time, this is a good choice. The surprise of the tour was the company. The group hit it off and we carried on to a group dinner after that.

This is a very good introduction to the many excellent Czech beers! Givvy our guide was very enthusiastic and we learnt a few things to our benefit. There were three couples in our group, which was a good size and we all bonded well, the only downside of the trip was that we had to leave the tasting venue soon after, for reasons unknown, we would all have liked to stay and had another few drinks!
