Your tour starts with pickup from centrally located hotels in Santiago; meet your guide and board the vehicle for the drive into the mountains, ascending the Andes along a sinuous road.
During the drive, stop first at Farellones, a ski area in the central zone where you can admire peaks that reach 2,700 meters in altitude. In the winter, they're all covered in snow, offering incredible scenery. Then visit another popular ski center called El Colorado.
Continue the ascent for about 20 more curves to finally reach Valle Nevado, a ski resort located at an elevation of 9,842 feet (3,000 meters). During winter, the area hosts one of the most important international snowboarding competitions of the year. You have time here to enjoy the scenery and have lunch (own expense). Can't remember our tour guide for this trip but he was beyond awesome. May not remember his name but I sure will remember him for the rest of my life. He gave us a super tour it was just my friend and I on this tour and he just went overboard for us. It so happened that when we were on the Andes mountain my friend fell while going up down a section of the mountain and broke her wrist. He immediately took charge and called for help then we cut our tour and he took us to the hospital and sat there with us for the entire day and evening until he had to go to his family. I was beyond impressed with his hospitality.

Couldn't make to Vale Nevado due to snow. But the guide made to other sky station on the way which was great. Many others tours companies just came back to Santiago.

Good tour except advertised as 8 hours but only lasted 4 and a half and they were one hour late picking us up from hotel.

This is a waste of money! The bus took us at 7:20 at hotel, and spent 5 hours, taking another 16 people on 7 diferente locations.
When we finally arrived at Valle Nevado, it was 12:00, we had just two hours to have lunch and see place. The return was another nightmare. We arrived at 8:00pm. -
Rodrigo and Rodrigo made this tour for us. Yes, we all agree that Rodrigo is a VERY TALENTED tour guide. He proved it once again.
BUT, how about our driver Rodrigo? How many times did he make us feel comfortable while driving UP on an icy road and slowly DOWN the mountains on the return.
These two gentlemen MADE THE TRIP FOR US.
It was a GLORIOUS day in the Andes. The mountains are beautiful. This is not something that we, experienced travellers, could have done without Viator. Too expensive for a cab. No local bus service. So Viator was our best ally.
Had a beer and a water con gas on the teraza at the very top.
Have already mailed my four buddies so that they can eat their hearts out.
We understand that there is really nothing you can do about the one family of four who returned late from the lodge and left ALL OF US sitting on the bus for 40 minutes after we had waited 20 extra minutes in the morning because they were not ready. NOT YOUR FAULT. What could you do? Leave them? Not appropriate.
It was nice to be able to rent cold weather clothes on the way up. A bit pricey, but better than being cold. Potential customers will want to know that ahead of time . . . or did we forget to pay attention to a notice?
At any rate, Rodrigo and Rodrigo were EXCELLENT.
