Start your tour with pickup from Victoria's spectacular Inner Harbour in front of the Empress Hotel. Driving through the stately downtown core, your driver-guide discusses notable landmarks while you pass through Government Street in Old Town, see Canada's oldest Chinatown, and view the last remnants of Fort Victoria.
Your coach tour follows a route along Antique Row before arriving at Craigdarroch Castle. Your guide will fill you in on the eccentricities of this Victorian-era Scottish Baronial mansion, which is designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
Enjoy an hour to explore Craigdarroch Castle at your leisure. Discover the heritage museum, considered a key piece of British Columbia history, built in the early 1900s and designed with exquisite stained glass windows and elegant woodwork. Learn about its wealthy former residents and the many functions of its subdivided estate, including as a military hospital and music school.
Continuing your drive, stop at the summit of Mt Tolmie for a photo opportunity high above the city. Then it's on to Oak Bay, Uplands and along Marine Drive, offering vistas of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Stop at Oak Bay Marina to feed the seals or grab some coffee (own expense), then travel along scenic Marine Drive and the Victoria waterfront past Beacon Hill Park, the largest of its kind in the city. Thorough and complete! Great for a fast overview of the city. Beware of the kids who run the tour pick up kiosk...very unhelpful and rude!

Archie our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the surrounding sights. Didn't know where the castle was located or what really to expect. From where the bus had to park to the castle was a bit of an uphill travel. The castle itself is a series of 2 flights of steps to reach each of the floors, and down stairs to the kitchen, out to the back of the castle, then down another flight to ground level going back around to the front and once again, this time, downhill to the bus. Tolmie Park offered a beautiful vista view of the area including looking out to the harbor. Due to the mainland fires the sight was a bit hazed over though. Again, Archie, shared a wealth of insight into the surrounding communities and shoreline areas we traveled. All-in-all the tour was well worth it.

Pick up location was easy to find! Bus stop and pick up could have been more convenient at Craigdarroch Castle. -
We enjoyed an informative tour of Victoria City along with Craigdarroch Castle. The driver was pleasant and knew the city and history very well. Highly recommend this tour.

I would not recommend this tour if you are truly interested in the tour of the castle. This tour does not allow enough time at the castle. I felt rushed and did not have enough time to read the history that was provided. Viator needs to extend their time at the castle.

Christoper was excellent guide. He took us to castle and other part of city. We got to see other part of cities that I would not know if i was not taken this tour. We got to see some of nicest house and beach on Island. It was relatively short tour, but it was good introduction of Victoria B.C.

The coach driver was very knowledgeable. The coach was clean and comfortable. The city is beautiful . Just a word to the wise the castle is at the top of a hill that the bus does not climb so getting up there can be a problem for someone physically challenged. This tour is Great!

It was a fun way to get to know the city upon arrival and the driver/guide was excellent... although some of his jokes were real groaners! He kept it interesting and the visit to Craigdarroch Castle was interesting as well to see how they have been able to restore this building to it's original magnificence. Driving through the neighbourhoods was also good but I think I would have preferred a hop on - hop off bus for that which is why I gave this a 4 star rating. Just know that you are basically inside the bus the whole time other than the visit to the castle so if you want to explore a certain neighbourhood, this is not the tour for that. Overall though it was still worth the two hours.
