Meet your guide in downtown Vancouver outside the Vancouver Art Gallery at your selected departure time. Begin your 3-hour walking tour with a stroll along busy downtown streets as your guide tells you about the dynamic nature of this west coast Canadian city.
Leaving the hustle and bustle behind, enter the neighborhood of Yaletown, once a warehouse district and now the latest redevelopment in Vancouver. Walk below towering high-rises and past trendy cafes, shops and galleries; along the way, you’ll have ample opportunity to scout dining and shopping spots to return to after your tour.
When you reach False Creek, board a ferry (one-way ticket included) and take a quick ride past more elegant high-rises, as well as floating homes.
Arrive at Granville Island, an artsy neighborhood boasting dozens of galleries featuring everything from glass-blown treasures to silk weavings to wooden works. Soak in the creative atmosphere as you walk around the island with your guide and pass French bakeries and restaurants.

Our guide, Nick, was a well informed, enthusiastic and knowledgeable high school student who clearly has a passion for his city. We started at the Vancouver Art Gallery and moved on pas the courts through Yaletown and down to what was Expo '96. Until this point, it had been interesting - so interesting, in fact, that based on this tour, we wen track to Yaletown for dinner and by accident found the best Italian restaurant we've been to outside Italy (and we go to Italy every year). From the Expo area we went to Granville Island and there, after less then 2 hours, we were left to explore. Fine. We went back to Granville Island another time too. The problem was that the tour had nothing to do with art and wasn't focused on art as we had expected. As a city tour, this would work if it concentrated on Yaletown, Granville Island, arty areas etc but the longish walk around the Expo area - all high rise apt blocks and a sports stadium - was to interesting and certainly didn't reflect the tour's remit. I want to score this higher as Nick was a good guide but I can't as it simply didn't reflect what was described and what therefore led me to book it, unfortunately.

Our young guide took our small group at an easy walking pace to many interesting parts of town, giving us an interesting look at the history and culture of Vancouver. This is a great city for walking, and our guide knew the answers to all our questions. The tour was not just to tourist spots, and when it ended we were well informed and oriented for the whole city. The ferry ride was great, and I'd recommend this tour to anyone!

IT was a cold, rainy day in the Northwest and we had a BLAST... Our tour guide was fun, thoughtful, insightful and age 25-60 loved it !!
