Meet your kilted guide at Halifax's Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, where you'll board an air-conditioned coach for a 2.5-hour sightseeing tour. This city is steeped in fascinating maritime history, and your guide will regale you with tales of pirates, privateers and more.
History buffs and fans of the film Titanic alike will find interest at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where 121 victims of the tragic shipwreck are buried, and a marker for ‘J Dawson’ stands. Learn about those who died during the Halifax Explosion of 1917, who also rest here.
Make a photo stop at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, perched on a hill in the center of the city. This fort is a symbol of Halifax’s role as one of the British Empire’s major naval stations, and spans a grassy park in the shape of an eight-point star.
Enjoy the oasis of the Halifax Public Gardens, modeled after a Victorian-era garden, dotted with linden and elm trees, as well as exotic and semitropical flowers. Admire wrought-iron gates, a bandstand and fountains.
Swing by the national historic site of Province House, a Palladian-style, three-story sandstone building built in 1819 as the seat of government for Nova Scotia. Learn the story behind the construction of the Old Town Clock, and drive by St Paul’s Church, the city’s oldest building dating back to 1749. Other sights include the Spring Garden Road area, City Hall and Grand Parade.
Along the waterfront, admire the Victorian-Italianate fa ades of the Historic Properties, warehouses dating back to the late 1700s. Your tour concludes back at the maritime museum.

Great bus tour of City. Could spend more time at the Citadel and less at the Fairview Cemetery. The tour guide was great with lots of information.

As usual the city tour was a good way to get to know and appreciate a city. Who knew Halifax was so hilly??!!

The tour was great. It covered all the important parts of the city. We later walked to see some of the highlights that were pointed out by our tour director. The tour director did a great job. He really knew the history of Halifrax and all of it's points of interests. I would recommend this tour as a starting point for exploring Halifax on foot.
