The highlight of this football experience is surely a visit to Maracan , the temple of emotions which was built in 1950 and recently rebuilt to host the World Cup 2014 final. It held the largest audience in the history of football (Brazil vs Paraguay 1969 , about 200 thousand people), is home to Pele's 1,000 goal (in 1969), host of the 1950 World Cup, the Pan-American Games in 2007 and most recently, the 2014 World Cup.
You'll also get to visit the clubs of the famous football teams which call Rio de Janeiro home, including Flamengo, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama and Botafogo. You can visit their trophy rooms, learn about each team's history and see inside their stadiums.
