Very long day but despite a 13 hour day we only spent about 3 hours actually looking at the sights. The pickup process was awful. We were first on the bus but it took 2.5 hours to complete the pickup process as the bus wound its way past all the hotels in Rio to collect the 45 people. Very inefficient and time consuming. When we arrived at Petropolis when were left on a street to shop for an hour but most people found that boring. We then had lunch and it was 2:30 before we started looking at anything of real interest. The afternoon improved with some interesting sights and we left at 5:45 before starting the very long drop off process at 7pm. The drop off was quicker but it was still 8:30 by the time we arrived back at our accommodation. It wasnt worth the money. That said, Rodrigo was a good host who knew his stuff.

Tour arrived one hour late from previously communicated start time. No apologies.
Tour guide English was poor. She would talk in Portuguese and say only few words in English. As far as sightseeing: this is a nice 2 hour tour that was stretched to 12 hours by padding activity. Very dissatisfied. -
TT was an energetic and attentive tour guide and we were very impressed by Petropolis.

Some of the People in the tour we were not able to locate after lunch so we spent over an hour sitting in the bus trying to find them.
This ended up making us rush through the rest of the trip and not do everything -
Fairly good, all-day tour, only a short ways out of Rio. Great history. Nice scenery. But, it did include shopping.

Great day! I enjoyed seeing more to Brazil. I wish the guide, while lovely and helpful, spoke more English.

This tour started off badly but improved.
The bus went to the wrong hotel and was 30 minutes late.
Our English tour was mainly Portuguese/Spanish, but our guide, Chi-chi Gina?, tried to keep us informed. Her English and Spanish were good.
The ride was very rough the springs/shocks must be shot.
One of out party hit his head on the ceiling on one big bump!
Otherwise, the tour itself in Petropolis went well.
The cultural center old casino, imperial palace, cathedral and crystal palace were all noteworthy.
The buffet lunch was good, but a bit rushed.
The chocolate factory was just a visit to a store at least, water was free!.
The women really appreciated the final hour allowed for shopping as prices were quite good.
Again, this tour can be easily arranged locally in Rio more cheaply. -
This tour was not worth full day trip from 8:10am pick up and 6:30pm drop-off. it wasted one hour to pick other passengers around the city. Emperor Dom Pedro II summer residence was currently a hotel, only good for picture taking from the fence. Museum of Santos Dumont was just a house, had to pay extra to enter. Only the Imperial Museum was worth the tour. The worst part was the guide Ms. T. Though I booked for an English guide, she kept talking in Portuguese and Spanish for nearly half an hour in the bus, then turned to English only for a short summary of what she said before, and we had passed all the places she explained about. After I shouted Do you forget we are here?, she improved. She tried to joke, but nothing funny at all! This was the worst tour I ever had so far.
