Estancia Cristina and Upsala Glacier tour starts at 6:45am and first heads towards Punta Bandera port where visitors sail off along the North Arm of Lake Argentino, surrounded by icebergs and magnificent landscapes.
Sailing goes on along Cristina Arm towards Estancia Cristina, which is the best land access to the glacier and the Continental Ice Fields and offers a viewpoint overlooking Upsala Glacier. This glacier has two lower ends, which are approximately 4 kilometers (2.5 mi.) wide each, an area of around 900 square km (347 square mi.) and 60 kilometers (37 mi.) long. Here is a sample of our itinerary for the day:
Boarding and departure at port Punta Bandera (NPC) will be at 8:15am in our modern and comfortable boat.
Sailing among icebergs and stunning scenery overlooking the western front of the Upsala glacier and then through Cristina Canal to the point of disembark at the Estancia.
Arrival at Estancia Cristina will be at 11:30am approximately.
Staying at the Estancia for 6 hours will give us enough time to enjoy!
Guided visit to the Costumbrista Museum (old shearing shed).
Ascent in all-terrain vehicles, traveling 9.5 km through mountainous roads.
Arrival to the Continental ice shelter.
30 minute walk.
Visit the oriental front of Upsala Glacier. Lake Guillermo, Southern Patagonian Ice and Andes.
Return to the farm house of the Estancia and board at 5:30pm.
Arrival to Puerto Banderas at approximately 7pm.飯店接送
