Start your 3-hour culinary train tour on a 360 degree glass cabin train from Amsterdam Central Station, for which a man-made island had been created in the IJ lake over 100 years ago to construct this characteristic building. The impressive train station is supported by 9.000 construction stakes. Enjoy impressive views of meadows and cattle and see an intriguing view of this water-heavy country, giving you unique insights to the heart of The Netherlands.
Departing from Amsterdam, your culinary train experience takes the oldest train line operating to Haarlem at the Spaarne river, passing the small village of Halfweg with an intriguing history connecting rail and water. After Haarlem, the train will continue along the impressive tulip fields near Lisse and Keukenhof Gardens. Leiden acts as a gateway to The Hague, the political heart and capital of The Netherlands with its many gardens located directly at the rail tracks.
See Rotterdam afterwards, which is known for its large port and marks the far end of your train ride. After Rotterdam, your dinner experience continues towards Gouda and the largest public garden of The Netherlands: Groene Hart (green heart) region. This fascinating area of cultivated nature shows how Dutch people lived back in the days with water being omnipresent.
