Leave Amsterdam by air-conditioned coach and travel south to Efteling. When you reach the park, you have roughly seven hours to explore at your own pace. The site is split into different areas that are based on fantasy realms, and has a uniquely rural feel to it, built in a pine forest.Take a ride on the Vogel Rok indoor roller coaster — completely in the dark — and visit Villa Volta, a modern-day haunted house full of mysteries. Try not to lose your way in the maze that is Avonturen Doolhof, or take a turn on the Pagode and soar above the park in the flying Thai temple. Treat the smaller kids to a visit to Kleuterhof Children’s Playground, where toddler-friendly adventures await.Break from the rides and watch a show instead. Performances change regularly, but musicians and jesters are just a couple of examples of the entertainment on offer. Experience Aquanura, one of Europe’s biggest water shows that combines water, light and fire in one slick performance.Ready to eat? Check out Efteling’s range of restaurants. From a pancake house to colonial railway station themed eatery, there’s something to suit all taste buds.When you’ve had your fill of theme park fun, return to your coach at the prearranged time.
