Start your tour with a pickup from your hotel, or meet your guide in York’s historical city center, and then hop aboard a comfortable minivan and travel to Yorkshire Dales National Park, home to some of Yorkshire's most iconic scenery and attractions.Gaze out at the picturesque countryside and pass through the cathedral town of Ripon before making your first stop at Masham. With time here spent at your leisure, traverse the parish’s charming streets and, depending on the day of your visit, peruse the stalls at the local market.Continue on to the small town of Middleham, where you’ll make a brief stop by Middleham Castle, the childhood home of Richard III. As you snap photos, hear from your guide how its royal heritage once earned it the title of the ‘Windsor of the North.’Next, be wowed by sweeping countryside vistas as you travel through Leyburn to upper Swaledale and the village of Reeth. Stop here to recharge with lunch (own expense) at one of the quaint tea rooms or pubs.Then, with your appetite sated, continue to Bolton Castle. As you take in the castle’s ruined facade, listen to your guide share stories about its involvement in the Pilgrimage of Grace, a Civil War siege and Mary Queen of Scot’s imprisonment.Soak up the tranquility during a visit to the beautiful cascades at Aysgarth Falls, featured in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, and the dramatic Ure River waterfalls. Then, travel onward to Bishopdale and the West Burton Cauldron Falls made famous by painter J. M. W. Turner.Journey through the classic Dales villages of Buckden and Kettlewell and pass Klinsey Crag, an imposing large limestone cliff, before making your final stop at Grassington. Wander the postcard-perfect market square and browse the local shops selling foods, specialty gifts, and arts and crafts.When the time comes, travel back to York, where your tour concludes at the original start point. I was on the Yorkshire Dales trip in August. I really enjoyed it. Our guide was very good and took us to some beautiful spots to visit and to take photos. The van was very comfortable and we had no difficulty navigating those narrow lanes. I recommend it. I have wonderful photos from my day trip.

on balance good tour - small group - 4 people - was surprised tour company went ahead with the tour - nice of them to honor it - beautiful places visited - spectacular scenery - tour guide Matthew attentive, good driver and knowledgeable - good attitude - one suggestion - keep the political commentary to yourself - tourists aren't interested in a guide's opinions about electric cars, wind farms, America's part in the Greek debacle, etc. - or if you insist on voicing it keep it to one sentence and then let it go

Matt our guide did an excellent job driving and clearly likes his jog as guide. We went to several villages and other scenic spots. It was a lovely sunny day and the Dells were at their best. Only 4 of us on the trip and we appreciated the effort Mountain Goat went to to do this tour..

It was a fantastic day and our guide, Lee was a very friendly guy. If you are looking forward to see the real face of the Yorkshire Dales, the small villages and the hidden treasures, this is the tour for you. Beautiful landscapes and a friendly atmosphere. I cant enough recommend this tour, its a great experience.

Has a pleasant day unfortunately the weather was poor but Mike the driver and guide adjusted the day to give us the best look at the dales and moors. He had a good knowledge of the history of the area. I would recommend is tour.
