DAY 1 FROM LONDON TO STRATFORD-UPON-AVON & MEDIEVAL YORK.
At 07:30, meet your Travel Director at the The Grosvenor Hotel in London and depart for Stratford-upon-Avon. Visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare and admire the architecture of this pretty town nestled beside the River Avon. Head north to historic York and walk inside the city walls see to the topsy-turvy Shambles, a picturesque street with warped overhanging timber-framed houses. Admire the glorious York Minster, which is the largest medieval church in northern Europe. In the evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner and the chance to get to know your fellow travellers.
DAY 2 OVER THE BORDER TO EDINBURGH.
Pass the ruined Jedburgh Abbey, en route to Edinburgh. Your Local Expert will show you Edinburgh Castle, home to the Honours of Scotland. At the end of the Royal Mile see the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of Her Majesty, the Queen. Cross over to Princes Street, passing the Sir Walter Scott Monument, to explore the elegant 18th century New Town with its classical Adam facades. In the evening, select departures will attend the spectacular Military Tattoo - a colourful mix of pipes and drums, dance and display, set against the floodlit backdrop of Edinburgh Castle.
DAY 3 TO THE LAKE DISTRICT AND ON TO LIVERPOOL.
Journey via Gretna Green, where many eloping English couples have married, to the beautiful English Lake District where there is time at leisure to explore on your own. Why not choose the Optional Excursion of a cruise on Windermere and steam train ride? There really is no better way to admire the incredible scenery of rugged mountain and secluded bays. Continue to lively Liverpool, home of The Beatles, and see the famous Liver Building.
1. DAY 4 TRAVEL TO ROMAN CHESTER AND ON TO CARDIFF.
Visit the former Roman fortress town of Chester. Walk along part of the city walls, see the Eastgate Clock, cathedral, remains of the Roman Amphitheatre and the unique black and white shopping arcades known as the ‘Rows.’ After time to explore, cross into Wales and head for the capital of Cardiff for an orientation of the port city, on the River Taff.
2. DAY 5 GEORGIAN BATH, STONEHENGE AND LONDON.
Cross the Severn Bridge back into England and travel to the City of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built above Britain's only thermal, mineral springs. The key highlight is of course a visit to the Roman Baths. See incredibly well-preserved remains of one of the greatest spas of the ancient world, still flowing with the natural hot water from the springs. Travel across Salisbury Plain to visit the pre-historic and mysterious Stonehenge, where the strange and awe-inspiring monoliths are reputed to be up to 5,000 years old. Day 1: London Stratford-upon-Avon York (D)
Leave central London by luxury coach and travel north to the pretty market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare ─ the renowned English poet and playwright ─ and hear tales of his popular sonnets, stanzas and plays. After exploring the town with your guide, travel north to York, capital of the county of Yorkshire.
Stretch your legs on a stroll around the city, and pay a visit to York Minster and the pretty cobblestone streets of the Shambles. Check in to your York hotel, and then get to know your guide and fellow group members over a welcome dinner and drinks.

Day 2: York Edinburgh (B)
After breakfast, leave York and travel north through the rugged countryside of the Northumberland Moors, passing the romantic ruins of Jedburgh Abbey, a 12th-century stately home built for Augustinian monks.
Your journey to Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, takes roughly four hours, meaning your estimated arrival time is around midday. First stop is Edinburgh Castle for a tour of the impressive historical landmark that towers on a rocky crag above the city. Learn of pivotal events in the castle’s history such as the Jacobite Rebellion, and see meticulously preserved rooms like the 16th-century Great Hall.
Return to your coach for a short drive down the Royal Mile to see Holyroodhouse Palace, the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh. After viewing the historical palace from the outside, take a walk down Princes Street, passing its busy high street shops and independent boutiques, before a photo stop by the Sir Walter Scott Monument. Enjoy free time to shop, eat and sightsee at leisure. Check into your hotel in the late afternoon, and then spend your evening in the city independently. If traveling on August 3, 10 or 17, a ticket to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is included. Head to Edinburgh Castle with your guide in the evening, and enjoy a performance of ceremonial marching, drumming, dancing and music that culminates in a dazzling firework display.

Day 3: Edinburgh Lake District Liverpool (B)
Enjoy breakfast, and travel southwest by coach, past the southern Scottish village of Gretna Green. The village is a popular British wedding venue, made famous from eloping English couples during the 18th and 19th centuries. Cross the border into England’s northeast and travel through the Lake District, a region so picturesque that it inspired several of Britain’s best-known poets. Stop to visit the grave of one such poet, William Wordsworth, in the pretty limestone town of Grasmere, and then take a break for lunch. Your tour then continues south to Liverpool, the lively northern city with a famous musical heritage.
After checking into your hotel, the remainder of your afternoon and evening is spent at leisure. Get recommendations for top attractions to visit independently from your guide; the Beatles Story exhibition and Albert Dock are well worth visiting at your own expense.

Day 4: Liverpool Chester Cardiff (B)
Relax over breakfast in your hotel, and then leave Liverpool to visit the former Roman fortress town of Chester, only a short drive away. Walk around the almost-intact city walls with your guide and learn about their use during medieval days. See Chester’s majestic Eastgate Clock ─ one of the most photographed clocks in Britain─ and then admire Chester Cathedral from the outside.
Resume your journey and travel southwest through Wales to the country’s capital of Cardiff: your final destination of the day. Check in to your hotel on arrival, and then enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening doing whatever you wish.

Day 5: Cardiff Bath Stonehenge London (B)
Leave your Cardiff hotel after breakfast, and travel to the historical spa town of Bath, back in England. Learn about Bath’s heritage as a spa resort on a walking tour, and admire its Georgian architecture, resplendent in the local honey-hued stone. Your tour includes a visit to the Roman Baths, and a photo stop outside the 15th-century Bath Abbey.
Use your free time to enjoy lunch, and then travel out of Bath to the Salisbury Plains, home to the UNESCO-listed stone circle of Stonehenge. Believed to date around 5,000 years old, the ancient monument boasts an intriguing past, built from rare Welsh stone at a time when transporting such heavy material would have been near impossible.
The stones are roped off from the crowds for preservation, but a footpath around the outside of the circle lends itself to clear and close-up views. Learn all about the stone circle from your guide, and pose for photos in front of its megalithic stones.
From Stonehenge, travel back to London, and finally finish your 5-day tour with a drop-off at the start point.飯店接送

Fabulous tour with Scott Hunter and Andrew Jackson driver. They were extremely professional and helpful. Everything went to plan except the weather in Stonehenge - where it was cold, wet but mystical just like the Stonehenge.
Highly recommend this short but varied and interesting tour of the UK.

The tour hit the highlights of the United Kingdom from Scotland to Wales. Tour guides were very knowledgeable.
The bus was comfortable and clean, however the wifi did not work.
Hotels, except in Edinburgh, were in the center of town so exploring the sites was easy.
Unfortunately, information about additional tours and activities were not provided until the first day on the bus.
No option to be picked up or dropped off at your hotel were available, so a bit awkward dragging suitcases around London.
All in all a great tour! -
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of England, Scotland and Wales. Our guide, Dave Neil was wonderful. He made history come alive and took the effort to make the trip a delight for everyone. He personalized the tour by playing music synched to the area Scottish music while in Scotland, Beetles when traveling to Liverpool, etc., and shared his favorite Deans shortbread cookies and specialty cheeses he picked up while in Chester. Our driver, Kevin was excellent and the rapport between them was fun. We were amazed at Kevins ability to maneuver the large bus through the narrow city streets. The bus was very clean, comfortable and roomy. Hotel accommodations were surprisingly high-end. Hilton, Radisson Blu, etc. and the breakfasts were fine. We had a great tour group of 35 from across the globe and wished we had more time to enjoy them.
Of the extra tours, we recommend the Liverpool tour and touring the castles. Most people think theyre all the same, but they are not. The tour of the Cardiff castle was a personal favorite. Without our tour guide, we would have missed the castles rich history and meaning of the decorative details of each room. The Edinburgh castle has a dramatic history and is in itself entirely different and distinct. We opted out of the Scottish dinner and decided to discover the city of Edinburgh. In short, our tour of the UK was simply excellent and were looking forward to exploring more of the world with Viator.

We enjoyed the tour very much despite the long days on the bus. Cardiff was a waste as you arrive after the castle closes and there isn't much to do in the city. Our guide gave us 2 hours at Stonehenge which everyone agreed was too long while we could have used the time in Bath. Bus was comfortable and wifi worked for the most part. Our tour guide, Tom, was knowledgeable and accommodating..

While I have given this tour the 5 star highly-recommended rating, I would also point out that Viator doesn't get the credit, Insight Vacations the actual tour provider receives the accolades. Our booking confirmation from Viator stated a 7:15 am pickup in London on day one, with no mention of Insights involvement in the process. In fact Viator had stated if we had any issues we should contact their provider Evan Evans tours. No sign of a bus by 7:45...I call Evan Evans and they inform me they haven't worked with Viator in years. No contact info for Viator provided other than an email address.
Thinking at this point our tour is a bust, a bus pulls up just after 8:00 am from Insight and I'm relieved to find our names on their list. Poor and incorrect information from Viator will have me dealing directly with Insight in future. As for the tour, great work by our Insight director Brad Dick and driver Michael Elliot. Two top-notch professionals who kept us on track and made this quick tour one of the most interesting we've been on. A great sampler for those hoping to come back to Britain for a lengthier stay at one or more of these locations. -
This tour is really great if you get the same tour director we had. It is an Insight tour with a lot of space on the bus. We saw almost all of Great Britain but don't plan to spend much time anywhere. This gave us a good overview and if we came back we would have ideas of where to spend time.

The trip was good. The group was kept small and the coach was spacious. The guide bringing us for the 5 days is very informative and nice. He tries to help in whatever he can. 5 days and you get to visit some of the main attractoons in Britain. A wonderful trip all in all.

This tour was all I expected and more. Our tour guide Caroline Huyshe was excellent. She provided many interesting bits of information at our different stops and along the way in the coach. The stops along the route were well planned and the hotels provided a restful evening and night. Ian our driver was very proficient and drove the coach with skill. Although Ian was very quiet he was very helpful with the luggage and getting our bags to the rooms. I believe Caroline made the trip very enjoyable on all fronts. She was patient with us and answered all our questions. I enjoyed this trip from start to finish and the extras- The Scottish Show in Edinburgh and the Welsh Evening at the The Blue Anchor Inn were very welcome additions. The tour was excellent! Tour guide and driver were great too.. except for the last night in Liverpool which i think is not worth the time. We should either spend one more night in Edinburgh or Lake district. There is nothing much in Liverpool unlike Edinburgh and Lake District. On the final day back to London, there should also be a stop for photos at Cotswold.. One comment on Thistle Marble Arch Hotel in which we stayed for 2 nights. One night before and after the tour respectively. We chose to stay there as the pick up is convenient. We told the hotel staff we will be coming back to stay in the hotel after our tour, however they refuse to keep some of our luggage. As such 2 of us took our 4 pieces of luggage with us all the way up north UK and back! As we have done much shopping in London before our land tour, we have more than 1 luggage each. If only the hotel can be more considerate given that we will still be their customer when we returned. Unfortunately they insisted on a charge of 30 pounds per day per luggage if we were to leave our bags with them. I find this not acceptable as we will be returning to stay with them. Appreciate Viator or Insights can speak to them to avoid disappointment of future tour customers. If its not because of Viator or Insight tour, Thistle Marble Arch will not necessary be chosen..
