Make your way to Boleyn Ground, commonly known as Upton Park. Just a short tube or bus ride from central London, this impressive stadium can hold more than 35,000 spectators.
When you arrive, head to your long-side seat (first-timers, this means the seats overlook the entire field) in the upper tier, and watch as the stadium fills up with football fans dressed in West Ham United’s colors. If you’ve come with a group, you’ll be guaranteed seats together.
Alternatively, if you have upgraded, make your way to the VIP box and dig into a 2-course buffet. Then, settle into your padded balcony seat with unparalleled views of the pitch, and cast your eyes over your complimentary team sheet and match program while you wait for the whistle.
Soak up the buzzing atmosphere as the crowd pump themselves up with traditional club songs, such as 'I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles.' Then, watch as the players take to the pitch, and stomp and clap along with the local fans as they spur on their favorite players.
Watch as the ball is passed from player to player, and marvel at the footballers’ precision and prowess as they perform awe-inspiring tricks in their quest to get the ball in the back of the net. Feel the elation as West Ham United charge toward their opponent’s goal and hear the deafening cries of disappointment following near misses.
To keep your energy levels up while watching the game, you can buy food and drinks from the stadium’s snack stalls (own expense). If you have upgraded, dedicated box staff will be able to assist you.

- It was really good to see a live premier league match, the seats were great and overall it was a wonderful experience. It ended up being the perfect weather but even if it had rained our seats were completely undercover. It ended up being much better value than watching other teams in the premier league, and the score was 4-3! Loads of action, even though West Ham Lost. It’s easy to get to on the London District line, and easy to find the ground because you just have to follow the crowds. Good experience, but the way to our seats was not clear; even though we were in the Betway stand (which is the big one you see from the front) we actually had to go in at the side, the route to which is blocked from the front so you have to double back on yourself. Bit confusing but there’s loads of staff about to help. All in all worth it.
- Watching West Ham United FC is possibly the best way to see Premier League football if visiting London. The atmosphere inside the ground is very friendly and welcoming but can be rather quiet and subdued if the home side are not winning. This season is the final chance to visit the old stadium before the club moves to a new ground next year so it was an unique opportunity. Seats were great and we had so much fun. Really recommended!
- Although the Hammers no longer boast the prestigious players they once did, a trip there on match day offers the chance to see the exiting football you would expect from the world's most competitive league. The atmosphere is safe and family friendly and it was an ideal way to spend an afternoon in London. Seats were excellent and we had a perfect view of the match. Recommended!
- This is a football fan's dream come true! I got to see West Ham play against Leicester in the Premier League, whilst sharing the excitement of some of the most passionate fans of all times - something so truly beautiful I had goosebumps throughout the match. It is impossible not to fall in love with the team as everyone stands up to sing their famous song about blowing bubbles while bubbles are in fact being blown all over the stadium. The experience goes beyond football and becomes about the English passion for the sport that turned football into a global phenomenon... As Boleyn Grounds is having its final moments as West Ham's home, this was also a chance to experience a match in a standing legend. The place exudes history from every corner, from turnstiles from the past century to the old stadium seats. It's football at its roots and an experience that won't be available for much longer. The stadium closes to be replaced by a newer, more modern one in 2016. If you still don't have major #fomo, beware! This may be your last chance. Getting there was super easy. The neighborhood seems a little intimidating at first, but don't let yourself get caught up in that misguided perception as everyone I met was incredibly friendly and happy to have me and my husband over to support their team. The energy around the stadium was fantastic, with a DJ welcoming the crowd and food trucks along the way for anyone to grab a bite of local food. An absolutely amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone wanting to experience the real London, the real origins of football and the passion that only die-hard fans can bring to life - even when their team looses, as was the case that day. :)
- Every aspect of this experience was positive. From arriving at the Upton Park station to the actual game itself. If you are a football fan and visiting London, this is a must do! West Ham United has such a rich football history and is located in an area that not many tourists get to see when visiting London. Despite losing to Leicester City 2-1, the atmosphere was really vibrant and everyone was into the game as if it was the latest stages of the League. Crowd was welcoming and made us feel like we were part of the home supporters. We had great seats and it seems like no matter where you’re sitting you’ll get a pretty good view of the pitch and of the action. I highly recommend this experience to anyone, football fan or not, who wishes to see London from a different perspective.
