Our Tour Manager will introduce you to the history of Dover Castle and then you will have free time to explore. Visit the medieval war tunnels or The Royal Court of Henry II or the World War II underground hospital.

Stop At: The White Cliffs of Dover, Dover, Kent, England
We either walk along the top of the famous White Cliffs of Dover, or view them from the beach, depending on the weather.

This was a nice day trip to see the history of Canterbury Dover with some free time to do your own exploring.
The driver and guide were very nice and helpful. -
My fianc? and I really enjoyed this trip because it had a little of everything - a castle, beautiful landscapes, and a quaint little town. We had plenty of time at both Dover Castle as well as at Canterbury. Unfortunately, the Canterbury Cathedral was closed except for a formal service, but we didn’t feel too slighted. We took the opportunity to really explore the town, grab a bite, so some shopping, etc. It was a great trip. We left around 9:00 and were back around 6:30, so while it was a full day we were glad to be back so early too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Dover and Canterbury. Christina was very knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed exploring Dover Castle and the walk along the cliffs. It was a beautiful clear day so we were able to see France. Explored Canterbury Cathedral and had a nice meal on our own time.

As the tour guide, Manon did an outstanding job. She provided a most informative and at times entertaining narrative through out our entire tour.We also had plenty of time to explore the sights on our own. Steve was our excellent driver, who was always on time and easy to locate. We had good traffic, on our return to London.We definitely recommend this tour and can’t imagine there’s a better trip out there. Thank you Manon and Steve for a great tour!

We joined a group of approx. 15 people on a very comfortable coach bus and set off first for Canterbury with our guide, Richard. We had plenty of time to explore the town on our own after a brief tour of the Cathedral with Richard. We then moved on to Dover Castle, where we were free to tour the grounds on our own. Last but not least we drove a short distance to the White Cliffs of Dover, again with free time to explore. Richard was great - good information, easy-going, and approachable. My husband and I really appreciated the opportunity to explore on our own those sights that interested us most and to pack in as much as possible. Others chose to spend their time more leisurely, enjoying lunch in Canterbury. All good!

We got stuck in traffic (around 2 extra hours) coming into Dover (something Viator may look into either with Dover city council or investigate a different route) so our time was cut short. Karen the tour guide made suggestions and we saw everything but quickly. I wasn’t aware of Dover Castle but it was great. Great views from the tower. The Cliffs of Dover were incredible and Canterbury and the Canterbury Cathedral didn’t disappoint.

This was a very wonderful day. Our guide was Richard, who was very knowledgeable about not only Canterbury and Dover but was more than happy to answer any questions we had about other tours and in general travels through the UK. He presented info in a very comprehensive and enjoyable manner. Both Richard and driver Khalid were a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend them and this tour. For me Dover Castle and the White cliffs were the best part. I would go back there to explore even more.

Was really just transport to Canterbury and Dover and castle. It was good and efficient transport. They are both worth visiting. The guide really provided little information although she was very nice.

Fantastic time I would do this tour again. I had no idea that Dover had a Castle.
