Meet your guide at Paddington station in central London, then hop aboard a train to the beautiful city of Oxford. Sit back and relax as the capital’s urban skyline gives way to the natural beauty of the English countryside.
Arrive in the ‘city of dreaming spires’ around an hour later. Plug in your headphones (if required) to help you hear your guide’s commentary, and set off to explore the sights. Admire the honey-colored buildings and learn about the city’s history as you stroll along the narrow streets toward some of the beautiful colleges that make up the University of Oxford.
Pass through ivy-clad walls and explore the hidden courtyards, elegant libraries, beautiful chapels and grand halls that have inspired generations of scholars, including J. R. R. Tolkien, Bill Clinton, Hugh Grant and Kate Beckinsale. Discover how the prestigious university is made up of some 38 colleges and is the oldest university in the English-speaking world.
Visit Christ Church College, one of the university’s largest colleges. Marvel at its grand fa ade, and if it’s open to the public at your time of visiting, head inside to discover its fascinating history. Learn about the many distinguished people who have studied here ─ including Albert Einstein and Lewis Carroll ─ and see the Great Hall, which has been featured in several of the Harry Potter movies.
After your walking tour, enjoy around two hours of free time to explore at your leisure. Perhaps refuel with lunch at a local pub, or indulge in a traditional afternoon tea (own expense). Alternatively, hit the city’s shopping streets in search of souvenirs.

Robert, tour guide, was very knowledgable. The train trip back from Oxford was fine once we made it back to the station on our own--lots of street construction; bad signage. The tour was WAY too long; should be broken up with lunch in between. Don't go if you can't walk 4.5 miles all at one time!

We enjoyed this tour. We had a small group -5 and the tour guide made the effort to include everyone. His tour of Oxford was informative and at a good pace. We enjoyed this tour very much.

The tour was confusing. Guide (Robert) had maps of where we were going but kept them until the end of the tour. It would have helped to have an overview of what we were seeing (layout of the colleges and town). He was personable but "power walked" us through the tour.

An absolutely wonderful day out! Caught the train into oxford and was shown all the major highlights and given lots of interesting information about all our stops. In the afternoon I got to leave the tour and check out the museums as the train ticket was open ended for that day.

Highly recommend Augusta amazing guide, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Only recommendation for improvement is to stop halfway through for coffee break and extend tour by an hour to also extend free time to go back to sights pointed out

Our guide Robert spent the whole day with us since we were the only two people on the tour. He was very knowable about Oxford . Enjoyed the day.
