Excellent tour

Not a great day for my 2nd day ever in London. Pickup point was quite a journey, had to get on lovely your bus only to find out i was to get dropped off to meet my real driver and transportation a mini van with no AC. Driver did say he didn't have a.c. but no mention of a refund so I decided to go even though it was 30 Celsius all day with blazing sun. Driver was lovely and knowledgeable but there was another couple on bus who were late getting back to the car after Stratford Upon Acon. This started an argument between the driver and them . Very tense and stressful ride to Oxford and back to London. And then a long walk back to my hotel. If I had to do it again I would have backed out and demanded refund. But live and learn. Not a great experience thankfully rest of my time in London was lovely.

I had fun on the tour! Stratford was amazing, and the stop at Cotswold was lovely. I found Oxford interesting as well, but not as enjoyable. If I had to make a tiny tweak to the itinerary, I'd spend maybe an extra half hour at Stratford and make up for it by spending slightly less time in Oxford.

It was raining on the day of our tour but that did not dampen the spirits of our tour guide Christina. She did an excellent job giving us the stories behind each college in Oxford and answered all our questions. She was pleasant, funny and well informed. We also enjoyed Startford upon Avon visiting Shakespeare's birth house and the little villages in Cotswold.

We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable on the areas we stopped at. The size of the group was great and the transportation was very accommodating.

This was a charming trip in every way, except for the timing. My companion and I are huge Shakespeare fans and we needed more time in Stratford. But the things we wanted to see were just too spread out to reach all of them.We might have been better off doing a separate trip to Stratford. Otherwise, this trip to the Midlands was a pleasant journey outside the city, giving us a taste of the English countryside. Oxford lived up to the imagination as the classic university town and the thatched cottages of the Cotswolds tickled the imagination. Its a tour that recreated many a literary landscape for myself and my companion, particularly since both of us are or have been English teachers.

Although we did enjoy seeing these sights, we felt that more dialogue as to the sights that we passed in the bus would have made the trip more interesting.

Our tour guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable and fun during the day. The only reason this tour is not getting 5 stars is the organization of the day. Honestly, this tour had a little too much crammed into one day. All the places we visited were great, but there was a general rushing of time and there was not nearly enough time to stay and enjoy everything. Also, if you are rushing around to see everything on your free time, you will do a LOT of walking. My pedometer said 27,000 steps at the end of this day, and I was beat.
When we got to Stratford, we waited in line for group admission into Shakespeare's birthplace. Finally, my friend and I decided to just go do our own exploring, because there was less than 2 hours to see everything. It was sad we had to make that choice, but I will have to just make a plan to go back to Stratford one day to give myself more time.
The Cotswolds were beautiful, but because we were behind on time, we only had a 10 minute stop in one town, so there wasn't really time to see much of that. It would be better to cut that out of the tour and see that on a separate full day.
Finally, Oxford included a walking tour. It is a beautiful city, and I am curious if they still do tours on the Oxford campus, though, when there are students there for the school year. Either way, pop into the Eagle and Child. They have signatures of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, among others on one of their walls. I thought it was neat, if you are into literature at all.
