Meet your guide in central London, and then set off on a walking tour around Westminster, the central London borough and home of British espionage that became the target of heavy bombing during WWII. Learn about the government staff who sheltered from the bombs in bunkers beneath Westminster’s streets, and hear tales of Churchill and his charismatic leadership during the Blitz and beyond. Your guide has intimate knowledge of the London area as well as its WWII history.
After taking in classic London landmarks such as 10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, stop at the Cenotaph ─ a famous British war memorial ─ to pay your respects to the fallen, and then pose for photos by the Statue of Winston Churchill.
Next, bid your guide a fond farewell and head underground to independently explore the wartime bunker of the Churchill War Rooms, a hastily created office that served as the British war cabinet’s hub throughout the duration of WWII.
Your first stop inside the site is Churchill Museum, an interactive exhibition space dedicated to the wartime leader. A piece of living history, the museum is home to an array of Churchill artifacts such as cigars and outfits as well as audio recordings of his inspiring wartime speeches. Hear little-known facts and anecdotes about the leader’s private and public life, and learn of the ‘special relationship’ he cultivated with President Roosevelt ─ a relationship that changed the course of history.
After visiting the museum, plug into your included audio guide and set off to discover the rest of the war rooms. The underground maze of bunkers and corridors became the home of secret government staff during the war, and many staff didn’t even see natural light from day to day. Learn about their isolation beneath ground, and hear of the top-secret conversations and day-to-day domestic crises that took place.

We took this tour at 2 pm on September 7th 2018. This detail is included because I do not recall the guides name but he was excellent. Very informative as we walked the Westminster area. The quality of the head sets we were given to listen to his tour was high. We had fast track access to the War Rooms allowing us to by pass the very long entrance lines.

Although we are Churchill fans, we didn't realize the ENTIRE focus of this Westminster portion of this tour was ALL on Mr. Churchill and some statues in park. No access to even peek in any of the many historic structures.... really didn't need to pre-book with a tour group for the fabulous War Rooms.... that's an easy do-it-yourself.

Georgi did a great job walking us throughout the neighborhood and narrating important aspects of politics, culture, sights, etc... If you are looking for a great 2 1/2 hour learning experience this is your opportunity and she is your guide!

For some reason I thought this tour also included a tour inside Westminster Abbey, not just touring the outside areas of Westminster. It was very hot that day and some of the tour was on hard surfaces where the sun was blistering. The tour can't help the weather, it just made it very uncomfortable. Tour guide was good though:)

A really fun way to learn about Churchill's London during WWII. Josh, our guide was interesting and very engaged with giving us the best experience possible.

The very rainy cold 4/8/18 day did not diminish our 1pm tour from being outstanding. Our guide was undaunted as he took us around the area, pointing out all buildings, statues and especially all things Churchill. He clearly knows his city's political history and shared it well. He was open to questions, sharing information on the architecture and the activities in these important buildings. He gave us all the heads up we were needed for our entry into and tour of the Churchill War Rooms. This was a private entrance with no crowds. They tell quite a story and at the end of it all, we felt we had quite an impressive education about the period. This tour is packed with information and our guide was very good at providing both concise but important facts and details. A thoroughly enjoyable experience thanks to him!

Great tour! Robert gave us great insight into Winston Churchill, his life and his impact on the world. I did think because of the title of the tour that we would get more history of London, Westminster Abbey etc but it was primarily about Winston Churchill. The museum and war rooms were awesome!!!! Had a hard time hearing with my headphones but didn't ruin the tour.

Tour guide was great. Churchill war rooms were good but we had to wait in line for about 35 minutes to get in which shouldn’t have happened.
