On each of the food and wine matching evenings explore different wine and food combinations, explore why some work better than others, and discover what particular characteristics in both the wine and food work well together, and what is best to be avoided!
You’ll taste some great wines, delicious food, and we’ll leave you with skills to more make your own matches more confidently in the future.
Choose between the following two event:
Cheese and Wine Matching
With so many varieties of cheese and wine to explore, there are endless combinations to enjoy and tantalise your tastebuds! Over the course of the evening we will try a variety of cheeses (all sourced from our fantastic local supplier) from mature styles, to blue and soft cheeses, from producers around the world. These will then all be paired with a minimum of 6 interesting wines to illustrate the impact the different matches can have. We will go over how to taste wine like a pro, so even if you have never been to a wine tasting you will soon pick it up. The wines tasted will include sparkling wines, dry whites, full bodied reds and of course some Port and sweet desert wine.
Chocolate and Wine Matching
The tasting will start with guide to how to taste wine like a pro, so even if you have never been to a wine tasting before you will soon pick it up. As with other food and wine matching there are some basic guidelines to follow to get the best match and we will go through these while we pair at least 6 different wines with a variety of tasty chocolates. From dry to sweet wine and white to dark chocolate there are many combinations to explore!
