Start your tour with a pickup from the designated meeting point in Fuengirola, Torremolinos or Malaga City, and then travel around central Malaga aboard your open-top bus. While gazing out at the coastal city’s sights, listen to your guide’s commentary about Malaga’s history, culture and landmarks.
Pass along Avenida de Andalucia and see Paseo del Parque ─ the city’s main park that’s popular with locals and visitors alike. Gaze down at the Port of Malaga while traveling along Paseo de la Farola, and hear how it prospered under Roman rule as a trading port for various mining exports.
Learn of Malaga’s love for bullfighting ─ the controversial yet culturally ingrained Spanish sport ─ as your coach passes iconic La Malagueta (Plaza de Toros de la Malagueta) bullring, and then travel up into the hilly city outskirts for panoramic views.
Stop outside Castillo de Gibralfaro, an impressive Arab castle perched on the hillside, overlooking central Malaga and the port. Soak up vistas that stretch all the way to the Alborian Sea, and then continue through some of Malaga’s most enchanting quarters.
Work your way through the streets around Calle Victoria to see the Church of La Victoria, and loop around Plaza de la Merced to see the spot where Pablo Picasso is believed to have been born. Admire sights of Alcazaba Tunnel, the flower-bedecked Pedro Luis Alfonso Gardens, Malaga City Hall and the magnificent Alcazaba of Malaga: a palatial 11th-century fortress built by the Spanish Moors.
After passing along Cortina del Muelle, travel to the Malaga Cathedral, and hop off your coach to enjoy roughly an hour of free time. If you'd like, step inside this iconic Renaissance church for a look at its 40 finely carved statues of saints (entry at own expense) or take a stroll through the beautiful gardens.
