The essential Granada, the places in the city that any visitor with an interest in the city simply has to see. They are also essential for you to fall in love with the city.
It is a guided tour that shows the history of Granada’s transformation, how events and history changed the city between the Muslim period and the reign of the Catholic Kings.
We will walk through the historic centre of the city near the Cathedral buildings, the core of the urban transformation plan that transformed the city after the conquest. We would draw your attention to the Cathedral, the Royal Chapel, the Merchant's Hall, the Madraza and the Royal Chancery.
In order to get an idea of what life in Muslim Granada before the Conquest was like, we have decided to visit the lower part of the Albayz□n - a World Heritage Site since 1994 - and the Carrer del Darro, which is especially evocative. The Gran V□a, which shows the changing styles of the 19th century Modernist period, runs between both of these areas.
This walk is therefore a journey back to the time when the monuments, squares, alleyways and corners that express the cultural essence of Granada were created, with the blend of styles and the influence of religions in town planning, society and the economy.

We were the only two persons booked and so had a private tour. Granada is small city around which it is easy to walk, and we had already been to the Cathedral and Alhambra the previous day. However, we valued this tour for visiting small streets in the area of Albaicin, which we would not have found ourselves, and to which we then returned on our own the following day. Stephanie was very informative and we covered a good amount of ground. She took us into buildings and courtyards which we would not have found ourselves. We were gald to have booked this tour.

It was worth having a guide to find the hidden secrets of Granada. We enjoyed it so much we booked another tour for a night walking tour.

I enjoyed this tour with Lucy, our tour guide. Lucy has a degree in Spanish history and architecture which made the tour very interesting.
She explained Granada's history as well as the details of the architectures as she pointed out buildings, monuments, churches and the carmens that dot the city. She shared facts that one would not normally hear in tours i.e. how can you tell if your orange tree will produce a bitter and sweet lemon? She gives insights to the landscapes and homes in Granada. Very detailed information about the Madraza architecture. Great tour!

We had local Granada native Juancho and he was great! Very knowledgeable, entertaining, and humble. A perfect mix between the moorish part of the city and the new city. Lots of history mixed with some humor and sight seeing. 5/5. Thank you again, Juancho!

We loved tgis tour with Beatrice from Cicerone Tours- both the company and our guide were so friendly, welcoming and keen to make this a memorable experience. Beatrice made sure that we delved into the most hidden and beautiful parts of Albaicin and took great care to outline the history and to explain the changing architecture behind these changes. We were fortunate to have taken this trip. Perhaps though, I would add an extra hour to include a visit to the Cathedral and Royal Chapel as part of this tour.

Mar was our local tour guide and she was fantastic. She cares passionately about her beautiful city and the history that shaped it. What made Mar so unique was her ability to read, the people in the tour and see what they understood and didn't, plus their interests so she could tailor her talk.
Mar and the wonderful lady ?? in the office saved our Granada trip by calling around, scrounging and other wise performing magic to find us 2 tour tickets for Alahambra. They were not to be found, many had tried. Thanks Viator Ladies!!!! Lynn and Ken Krupski
