Antoni Gaudi was both a genius architect and a deeply spiritual person. For this reason, his nickname is ‘God’s Architect.’ He may have also garnered that name because his unique and iconic creations look so divinely inspired, as if he were channeling a world from another dimension.This private, full-day tour takes you through Barcelona to get an up-close view of some of Gaudi's most famous designs. Start at the Gaudi Experience, an interactive, 4D exhibition about the architect’s life and work. Then, continue to Park G□ell, the verdant and hilly expanse that is littered with touches of Gaudi everywhere (plus it offers a great view of the city). Stroll the park for a bit before going to the Eixample neighborhood for more Gaudi sites.Eixample is littered with works by the great architect. Stand in front of Casa Mil□ (nicknamed La Pedrera, ‘the Quarry’), Gaudi's last civic work, and be absorbed in the apartment building’s magical curving walls. At Casa Vicens, one of Gaudi’s first important works, notice the Moorish influence. Casa Batll□, nicknamed the House of Bones, looks like it could be the home of a hobbit.After a 1.5-hour break for lunch (own expense), head to the architect's magnum opus: the Sagrada Familia, the most visited monument in Spain. This striking basilica has become an icon of the city of Barcelona itself. And yet it’s still not finished. Grab an audio guide and tour the sacred space, gawking at all the unique nooks and features.Finally, head to the Gothic Quarter to visit Palau G□ell, a mansion just off of the bustling pedestrian way, Las Ramblas. Tour the mansion with an audio guide. We were so impressed with our tour of Gaudi's Barcelona! Our tour guide Vivienne was spectacular! She knew so much and her passion for the subject was clear! Although the tour was long we did not loose focus as Vivienne made us feel engaged and always had something interesting to say. Fabulous.
