This tour is the perfect introduction to Venice, giving you an overview of the city’s unrivalled history and a taster of its world-famous cuisine.
Your adventure begins in the Cannaregio neighbourhood, one of the few remaining residential areas of Venice, known for being a popular afterwork meeting spot for thirsty locals. We will take a gentle stroll around and chat about its 1,000 year history and your local guide will offer suggestions on other things to see and do during your stay.
A ride in a traditional, stand-up traghetto gondola is next as we cross the Grand Canal the way the locals do.
Once in Rialto, the food tasting can begin! A briefing on local products at the market (only available in the morning tour) preceeds our first stop at a small eatery, owned by a group of young locals with a passion for experimenting with traditional recipes, giving them a modern twist. Expect dishes such as black ink calamari, polenta with seafood or seasonal vegetables (served in elaborate dishes).
Our second foodie stop is a historic spot which will help you better understand the envy-inducing culture of bacari in Venice and how to enjoy this experience while you’re flying solo around the city.
A few secret, hidden spots near the Rialto are up next, which will demonstrate the importance of moving just one street away from the tourist hordes, to get a little slice of Venice to yourself.
The tour will end at the iconic Rialto bridge, which is surrounded by great restaurants and shops. Your guide will be happy to help you with recommendations for continuing the fun or with directions to help you back to your accommodation.

We were told by a friend to do the 5 bar tour and this is what we came across. It was great! Found out lots of interesting stuff about Venice and got to taste good food and wine

We had a wonderful time. Our guide,Bea, was very friendly and knowledgeable. If you like food and wine pairings, this is the tour for you! We had lots of dishes we had never tried before. Wines paired perfectly with the foods. Lots of wine. Loved that there were locals at all the bars. We felt like we were living the Italian life!

My guide, Beatrice led me to 6 bacaros, each of where offered a cicchetto and a glas of wine. She is well-known by every barcaro and knows very well what the best at this bacaro. During a tour she explained about Venetian history and current life, like she is a friend of mine since 10 years. A tour is real worth the price.

We arrived in the square half an hour before the tour was about to start,we came by ferry from st clemente palaceGot to the other side and asked directions,after ten minutes we were told we were miles away from the meeting point we were so upset We didn't get to do the tour

Wonderful guide and wonderful food. It gives you the opportunity to taste many different wines. Seafood salad was special!

Cicchetti bars are where the locals eat, drink and unwind. But they can be mysterious and potentially intimidating to new travelers. This tour breaks down the strangeness of them and makes even novices comfortable wandering in and grabbing a bite. We toured on our first day and over the next 4 days took many of our meals in these fun and historic establishments. And saved hundreds of Euros as I could eat my fill for less than 20 euros! If you like food and want to really know Venice then take this tour. Even if not a foodie, take this tour.

The tour guide was great but she was the only positive part of the tour. Wine was terrible and my husband and I left completely starving. It was a 3 hour tour with nowhere to sit for even 2 min. Would not recommend if you are looking for any type of substantial food. I have a feeling most people give this a high review because they got overly drunk on an empty stomach. Eat before or after you go! The price of this tour is very high for how little you get as well.

The start was a little long and a stop during tat time would have been appreciated. Once the stops began it picked up steam. We had been in Venice before and knew some places but this definitely added to our knowledge and enjoyment
