Unlike a gondola ride, this Grand Canal boat tour takes you through many diverse areas of the city for a thorough introduction to the city of Venice. Step foot on your boat near St Mark’s Square, admiring St Mark’s Basilica and Doge's Palace along with other landmarks as you disembark. While you ride, you'll learn about the origins and evolution of the Grand Canal, Venice's most important 'street.’
Marvel at the stunning palaces and churches that line the famous Venetian canal as you pass by squares like Campo Santa Maria Formosa that contain Gothic palaces and churches, like the magnificent San Giovanni e Paolo. Your guide will enlighten your group about Venetian architecture as well as the trade schools of Venice such as the Scuola Grande di San Marco that provided the foundations for the mercantile empire to flourish.
Then, take a fascinating journey through Venice’s minor canals to see parts of the city that are seldom visited by tourists. Take in the charming ambiance as you float through these less crowded canals. The boats are small enough to navigate the narrow canals, with enough space for you to comfortably sit outside to take photographs and listen to the detailed commentary provided by your guide. Great and fun tour. Wish it was longer. The boat was fast and showed us places we should explore. I had a much better time on this tour than our gondola ride. Really great way to see Venice!

Loved doing canal in smaller boat with only six on board. Could see everything and ask questions. Very knowledgeable guide.

Quick and easy boarding-Tour guide at designated spot on time and quite cheerful! Well kept vessel for tour and our guide was full of local knowledge and very engaging. We boated through many small canals and finally among the Grand Canal. Perfect day to understand Venice and see many places we needed to walk to on our visit. It was our first time to Venice and the tour was very informative and casual, giving us a good perspective of what to expect on our visit. Highly recommended for first time travelers!

I had booked this tour for our first afternoon in Venice to help us get our bearings and also to give us an introduction to the City.
We had a little difficulty finding the location of the meeting point as there seemed to be two entrances to the Royal Gardens but we stood between the two until we saw a crowd gathering in front of one. From thereonin it was easy enough. The guide led us onto the boat which was a few metres away and we were off. There was enough room for four people to stand at the back of the boat and four people to sit at the front.
We were led down many smaller canals, where we learned about how Venice was built, the way of life, the hospitals, means of transportation etc, before going back on to the Grand Canal where our guide pointed out famous buildings and sights. He also gave us lots of fun facts and made the tour very interesting in the way he presented it. It was a great way to start our trip!

We missed our scheduled tour because the instructions as to where to meet were so vague and unclear it was near impossible to find. Big hint: DO NOT look for a boat or signage near the water. The meet point is actually immediately in front of the gates of the Royal Gardens. Look carefully for the ladies holding A4 sized pieces of paper with Avventure Bellisme printed on it. Thats all the signage there is. Fortunately whilst we missed our appointed trip the company put us on a boat an hour later. The boat tour itself was quite good. The organisation sadly was hopeless. Overall a frustrating and stressful experience. Hence two stars.

This tour was short, sweet and to the point! Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. The boat was a little tight for how many were on the tour, and I wish we had a boat that was open to enjoy the sights a little more. Great tour if you only have a short time in Venice and want the highlight reel of information.

When you first get to Venice the first thing you should do is buy a waterbus pass for the length of your stay. Their waterbus system is extremely efficient. Once you have the pass, you can just sit on the bus for as long as you like and see all of the islands and cancals. The bus seems to be extremely reliable down to the minute and saved my feet! I wish I knew about it the first day. If you get the bus, not much point to this tour.

This was a good tour. The guide was very knowledgeable. We did this the first night in Venice and it definitely helped give us a feel for the layout of the city. It just seems a little expensive for what it was though.

Our beautiful Venetian guide explained the highlights of Venice to us, explaining its history. Lovely day and wonderful little boat tour. Our boat boarded at the dock near San Marco Square. Very nice sharing the waterway with the gondola's and the vaporettos.
