Board a comfortable motorboat, departing from the Alilaguna pier in front of the Royal Gardens, and speed along the Venetian Lagoon to three islands famous for their handicrafts and architecture. You’ll cruise past the islands of San Giorgio Maggiore, San Servolo, San Lazzaro degli Armeni and Sant’Elena Gardens to Murano, divided into nine islets crossed by a wide canal. Known for its glassware shops and factories, Murano boasts a long and still-thriving tradition dating back to 1291, when glass artisans moved their kilns from the old city center.
Explore the island on foot and stop at a glass factory to watch a skilled glass blower create works of art. Learn from your guide about Murano’s wealth in the 15th and 16th centuries when the island was central to Europe’s glass making. View the magnificent splendor of Murano’s palaces and Veneto-Byzantine style churches, some with mosaics and ornamental motifs designed in the 12th century, and catch a glimpse of San Michele Venice’s 19th-century cemetery across the water. Before re-boarding the boat, you'll have time to visit a museum showcasing the world-famous Murano glass.
When you reach the island of Torcello established between the 5th and 6th centuries and the earliest center of civilization in the Venetian Lagoon you’ll see evidence of the island’s glorious past as it once flourished with ornate palaces and churches. First, view the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in the 7th century. Your guide will also show you the excavated remains of the circular baptistery in the Church of Santa Fosca, which showcases a delightful portico and striking Byzantine interior.
Afterward, journey to the island of Burano and admire the picturesque fishermen's houses painted in bright pastel colors. In this miniature Venice, you’ll find the famous lace abundant since the 16th century and once considered the most refined in Europe. Touch and go look-see of the 3 islands if you only have time for a quick overview. Good enough for us.

Happy to say we have visited the islands, however if you enjoy being trapped in a glass factory for an hour on Murano, then only have 45 minutes to enjoy Burano, then have 45 minutes to visit torcelli then this is the trip for you. Tour was Italian/English and we learned nothing of the islands. Crammed in like sheep....worst trip I've had.

Glass blowing presentation in murano and Venetian lace originality in Burano. Torcello was a lot of walking to visit a very old church

We had a wonderful day enjoying the peace of Torcello, the bright colours and busy Burano and the glass of Murano. We left the factory promptly and explored the other glass shops in Murano. The mosaics in Torcello are truly magnificent. The boat journey gave excellent views of Venice and helped one understand how the Lagoon works. A trip well worth doing.

Great tour and narrations , however if you want more than 45min in Murano or Burano you might want to just buy a $20 water bus pass and go on your own.

The transport to each place was great and we got good information from our guide but it would be helpful to have more direction in each place.

THis was a great day-however, there are a lot of these tours and you do not need to pre-book-they should have more tours and less people on the boat-however, our guide was adorable and very knowledgable!

We are no strangers to using Viator. This tour was not the norm. The people managing the tour were very aloof, displayed an attitude of being bothered and handled the crowd as if they were cattle. The gentleman that was suppose to be screening the group did not check our voucher. When 15 minutes later, a young later was asking everyone to get up against the wall and show her our tickets. We did and she scolded us that our voucher needed to be converted into tickets. We asked her were and she just pointed and said go to the front. At the front the gentleman looked at our vouchers and pointed us to a kiosk at the end of the group of kiosks. We got it changed and came back. We started to ask the young lady some questions and she interrupted us and said, "I don't know this is not my tour" We never got our answers and she was too busy training us like cattle. We did not want to endure 4.5 hours of being treated that was so we left. She saw us left and was not concerned at all as to what happened, she gestured as dismissive. I dont believe she noticed that we saw her make the gesture.

Loved going to each island but Not enough time in Murano and Burano.

For the price this is highly worth it if you have 3 days in Venice. If you're only in Venice for 2 days I would not recommend this as I would rather explore the rest of Venice.
