Board your coach in central Sorrento in the morning and settle in for your 1-hour journey to Vesuvius National Park. Once you enter the park, transfer to an all-terrain 4x4 vehicle and take an air-conditioned ride up the mountain with your guide.Hop out at Reserve Alto Tirone to start your 30-minute hike along Matrone's Road, a quiet trail that meanders gently up to the volcano's crater. Stop several times along the way to admire the landscape, learn about the history of Mt Vesuvius, and listen as your guide points out sights in the distance such as the city of Naples, nearby Herculaneum, Pompeii and the sweeping Sarno River Valley.After reaching the top of the crater, at an altitude of roughly 3,445 feet (1,050 meters), enjoy spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples, the Sorrento Peninsula and the islands of Capri and Ischia. Soak up the views, take photos, and then reboard your 4WD vehicle to journey down the mountain. Back amid the foothills of Mt Vesuvius, finish your day with a wine tasting at Le Cantine del Vesuvio winery. Stroll through the vineyards, learn about the winemaking process from a wine expert, and sit down to a leisurely lunch accompanied by a tasting of three of the estate's wines: a white, a red and a ros□.After lunch, reboard your coach and relax on the drive back to Sorrento, arriving in the late afternoon.Sample Menu:Appetizer:- Bruschetta with local cheese, salami and cherry tomatoes

A GREAT trip! Very informative and loved the wine tasting and lunch afterwards. Our guide Sasa was the BEST! I would highly recommend this trip! Reasonably priced and a trip you will never forget.

Excellent tour from start to finish. Great info from the guide on the coach journey. Loved the 4 x 4, lunch was fab and the wine tasting was good fun too.

Overall an excellent tour and great value for money. It's really worth booking a tour instead of doing it on your own. THe tour guide was very knowledgable and looked after everybody really well. The lunch at the vineyard was fantastic in an a,axing setting at the foot of Vesuvius. The olives, salami and bread for starters was exquisite and the spaghetti and tomatoes was to die for, amazing flavour! All in all I would say it's the best way to do Vesuvius, we fit everything in, had a great time and we're back at the hotel by mid afternoon. A word of warning though - take some sensible shoes not flip flops or open toed sandals, the volcanic ash gets everywhere!

I was really looking forward to this tour and it certainly did not disappoint. We were picked up at a central location in Sorrento, a 1 hour coach trip later and we found ourselves in the Mount Vesuvius national park. Then we boarded the adapted army truck 4x4 coaches which, yes, do mean a slightly bumpy journey, but I would hate to think just how bumpy it would be in regular transport. From there, the short 20-25 minute climb to the crater. Do not let this put you off! Regular trainers are perfectly suitable and our tour guide stopped every few minutes to let us catch our breath and point out different features of the landscape. The views are unparalleled to anything I have ever experienced. After spending some individual time to take photos you can then descend to the 'car park' and descend down the mountain on the 4x4s. The vineyard is located only a short 5/10 minute coach ride away and the 3 course menu supplied with the wines was certainly not tight on the portion sizes or the quality of the food. The hour coach journey back to Sorrento provides a good opportunity for a much needed nap! I would certainly recommend this tour to anybody.

Desiree was our tour guide and she was EXCELLENT! The hike part gets a little steep and is sandy but you certainly don't have to be in tip top shape to do it, so don't let it scare you. The winery was amazing. The views were beautiful, the food was delicious and the wine was amazing.

Fabulous tour, Enjoyed Vesuvius the tour guide was very knowledgeable. The wine tasting and lunch was the icing on the cake, lovely food and plenty of it and lots of tasty wines, kept topping up the glasses. Great day out I would recommend to anyone.
