Leave your central Siena hotel and travel north through the Tuscan countryside by luxury minivan. Your destination is San Gimignano, an impressive medieval town complete with lovely, old city walls and lofty towers. Learn all about the compelling town from your guide as you travel, and then enjoy free time in San Gimignano to explore at your own pace. Admire the fascinating architecture around Piazza della Cisterna and Piazza del Duomo, and have your camera ready for photos by the Collegiata San Gimignano’s Romanesque cathedral. Perhaps take a stroll along the Via Francigena strip an ancient pilgrimage road or visit the shops to browse the locally made handicrafts and beautiful Santa Fina pottery.
Meet your guide at the pre-arranged time and travel to a renowned Tuscan winery in the countryside near San Gimignano. After a tour of its vineyards and wine cellars, sit down to enjoy a wine-tasting session, sampling the region’s full-bodied Vernaccia wine. The only white Tuscan wine to have achieved Italy’s most prestigious wine classification DOCG status Vernaccia has been considered to be one of the country’s noble wines since medieval times. Savor its dry, floral tones and compare its rich flavors against samples of other Tuscan wines.
Italians like to eat as they drink, so follow their lead and soak up the delicious wines with some light antipasto. The snacks served during your wines tasting will vary each time, but expect treats like crostini and bruschetta with olives, cheese, ruby-red tomatoes and cured meats.

San Gimignano was wonderful, but an hour was way too short. We barely had time to explore at all. The wine tasting although enjoyable, was basically just a hard sell and at 11.30 in the morning...a bit early. I would much prefer just to have visited San Gimignano. Also ..our guide was excellent but obviously very under pressure and kept looking at his watch. He actually had me stressed that he would be late for his next tour.

My husband and I were delightfully surprised by how amazing this tour actually was. The tour guide was outstanding!! He was friendly and very knowledgable of the Tuscany region. The tour only included us and another couple, which was a lovely surprise. It made it more personal. This tour is a must!!

We had a great time. The wine tasting event was spectacular. My wife and I fell in love with San Gimignano. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit wine country.

San Gimignano was amazing, the Wine Tasting was wonderful - for whatever reason our tour did not include a tour of the vineyards or wine cellars as stated however we did enjoy a wine-tasting session, and sampled Vernaccia wine along with several other local wines. The downside of the tour was our van - there was problem with a window which created wind noise making it difficult to hear our guide - impossible for those seated in the back row.

This tour was great! Danny our guide was very knowledgeable about the Siena and San Gimignano area and made for a very enjoyable tour. The wine tasting was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour.

This was a fun tour. We had a couple of hours in San Gimignano which was great. It's a delightful little town that I think you could spend a couple of days enjoying. The wine tasting over lunch was absolutely hilarious. The guy running the wine tasting was a real comedian and had all the groups there laughing most of the time. The wines were very nice and the oils were great. It was just an all-round great experience.

Fantastic tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. I would have liked to have more time in San Gimignano (we had about 45 minutes) but the wine tasting was fantastic. They do not skimp on the wine as we each received about 6 glasses. We also got to try a variety of olive oils. The truffle oil was fantastic.
