Meet your guide at the Hotel Forum near Cavour metro stop in central Rome, and start your evening by heading up to the prestigious hotel's rooftop restaurant. The terrace overlooks the sights of Ancient Rome, boasting incredible views of monument such as Trajan’s Forum. Gaze out at the ruins and toast the start of your 走四方 VIP with a glass of prosecco ─ the crisp Italian fizz!
As you sip, listen to your guide give an introduction to the history of Rome, bringing the enchanting sights sprawled before you to life. Take a seat at your private table ─ reserved just for you and the people you have booked with ─ and soak up the sights from the elegant terrace. Then, dine on your gourmet 4-course meal with wine, and enjoy a tantalizing selection of Roman specialties such as saltimbocca alla Romana (prosciutto-wrapped veal) and more. Finish your meal with an espresso, just as the Italians do, and then follow your guide out of the restaurant and through the Roman Forum on your way to the Colosseum. A monument that needs no introduction, the city’s star attraction is quiet in the evening, meaning its ancient walkways are filled with atmospheric shadows rather than its daytime crowds.
Stroll around the first tier of the virtually empty Colosseum and make your way to the reconstructed arena floor to stand in the space where brutal gladiatorial battles of bygone days were fought. Hear how the crowds of the amphitheater roared as fighters battled not just each other, but wild beasts such as lions and tigers, too.
Head below ground to see the underground chambers where the gladiators psyched themselves up for the fights of their lives, and the pens where animals were kept before being released to the arena. Few visitors are able to walk through these chambers as they are only open to a select number of visitors per day. Even better, you will be one of the rare few to see the chambers at night!

So glad that we did this. The colosseum at night is beautiful. The day tours are so crowded and this was a very nice, small group with a personalized tour. Dinner was lovely and delicious.

The dinner was acceptable although nothing amazing. Kylie, the representative, was lovely - very welcoming and professional. The guide for the tour, however, although pleasant, did not speak English well enough for any of us to understand what she was saying. My friend and I came away from the tour not having understood even one sentence. We spoke to other people on the tour and discovered that they had the same problem. For the price we paid, I had expected a very informative and exciting experience of the Colosseum but in fact, we just trailed around bored to tears, not understanding a word and not enjoying the experience at all. Kylie observed the whole tour and I could see from her face that she knew our group were struggling to understand what the guide was saying. We told her what we thought of the tour before we left. We are extremely disappointed as we could have visited the Colosseum
ourselves earlier in the week using headsets, which I have done on a previous visit some years ago. It was my friend's first visit to Rome, however, and this trip was supposed to be the highlight of our holiday.I felt so disappointed for her, especially, as she had looked forward to the evening all week, and then ended up not having learned anything about the Colosseum at all. For 180.00, this tour should have been nothing short of amazing - but it was disappointing on every level. -
We were not sure about this tour as the reviews appeared mixed. First off...We found the food at The Hotel Forumn to be very good. Yes, the restaurant is a bit dated but that only added to the charm for us. We had a view of the forumn from our table and we were able to have our own table, not forced to sit with others we did not know on the tour.
What a lovely way to start a tour! The waiters were super attentive, and as it started to get dark and dinner and dessert, was over btw I am gluten free and they served a fabulous gluten free pasta we took a brief walk to The Forumn. There were about 16 people in our tour and that was not too many. There was no line, and with a full moon rising we entered the Colosseum. This was our first night in Rome and what a fabulous way to begin!!! The Colosseum at night is NOT brightly lit. It is just right to give you the wonderful feel that you are walking on sacred ground. I wish I could recall the name of the young lady leading the tour...She was simply delightful and told the compelling story and history of The Colosseum. The underground access was amazing. We chatted later in the week with tourists who had just visited the Colosseum during the day and it was hot and very crowded. We maybe saw one other tour group ahead of us but it was timed to make you feel like we were there by ourselves. There is quite a bit of walking but if one asks, there are elevators and the Viator tour guides go above and beyond to accomodate one's needs We were not rushed at all. Just be prepared to do a bit of walking and to have to look for a taxi after. There is no taxi line at the exit. Make sure to ask your guide where to pick up a cab, a bunch of us got lost. -
This tour was fabulous. Starting from our rooftop dinner at the Hotel Forum to our private tour of the Colosseum, everything was perfect! Our tour guide was entertaining and very knowledgeable! The food was absolutely delicious and the views were magnificent!

There was some confusion about the restaurant and we had to walk a ways to get to the other restaurant but we had a spectacular view of the coliseum as the sun was setting and our guide inside the coliseum was amazing - so knowledge - absolutely wonderful.

The food at the restaurant was as one might expect - the usual tourist menu but to be fair the portions were plentiful and there was plenty of wine for us. The Head Waiter was very attentive and we got into long conversations regarding the Italian language which we are currently learning. The views from the restaurant are fine but nothing I hadn't already seen on my many visits to Rome.
The tour of the Colosseum was fun - it has a different feel entirely to a daytime visit and it was great that we were not competing with the hordes of tourists that are there in daylight hours. Unfortunately we had to have a different tour guide from the host at the restaurant whose English was excellent for the visit and her English was very poor especially when trying to impart the more technical detail of the structure - we had visited the Colosseum many times before and know the history quite well so we just switched off our headsets! Our one disappointment was not being able to see the newly installed Roman lift which demonstrates how animals and slaves may have been transported from the bowels of the structure to the arena itself as seen on National Geographic. The guide explained that she had just returned from holiday herself and had not been briefed on this - even if this were the case I would still have liked to have seen the lift! We will have to visit again - next time I think we would skip the meal and maybe engage a private tour guide.

evening tour of the colosseum was fabulous. Dinner was good. Food was very good, though the rooftop experience left alittle to be desired since we were enclosed in more plexiglass than I would have expected. Quite expensive as we included our 3 children as well only one of whom consumed alcohol so not really sure we received our value.
