Meet your friendly driver-guide at a garage near the Colosseum in central Rome, and then hop into the passenger seat of a bright-colored vintage Fiat 500. Commonly known as a Cinquecento, these eye-catching cars burst on to the Italian motoring scene in the 1950s, and the early models still remain among the most sought-after vintage cars in Italy today.
With your driver-guide at the wheel and the soft-top roof pushed back, relax and soak up the sun and the sights as you cruise through the Eternal City toward Lake Bracciano. Less than 20 miles (30 km) from Rome, Lake Bracciano is a picturesque lake nestled among stretches of unspoiled countryside.
Admire the beauty of the Italian countryside as you zip along the winding roads in your stylish car. Look up at the sycamores and umbrella pine trees, and breathe in the intoxicating smell of freshly cut hay, hearing nothing but the gentle purr of the Fiat’s engine and the chirps of crickets and cicadas.
Pull up at the medieval village of Bracciano, then stroll with your guide along the cobblestone pathways to the lake. On arrival, change into your bathing suit and jump into the fresh waters for a swim. Then, dry off and enjoy an included aperitivo before heading to one of the charming, lakeside restaurants for lunch (own expense).
Next, soak up panoramic views of the lake as you’re driven to Trevignano village. Here, stop for a delicious coffee or a gelato (own expense) before embarking on the return trip to Rome.
Your tour concludes back at the original start point.
Please note: Fiat 500s are small compared to most of today’s cars, so with comfort in mind, bookings are only accepted for a maximum of two adults, or one adult and two children, per car.
