Meet your driver at Civitavecchia Cruise Port, and then sit back and relax in your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for the approx. 1-hour journey to the Eternal City. As you approach central Rome, gaze out of the window and admire the architectural treasures that are testament to the Italian capital’s rich history.
On arrival at the drop-off point near St Peter’s Basilica, step out of your vehicle and set off on your own; you'll have approx. 6 hours to explore the city independently. Perhaps begin by making use of your hop-on hop-off river cruise ticket. Stroll down the Via della Conciliazione, a street that connects Saint Peter's Square to the western bank of Tiber River.
Board your open-air boat from the pier outside Castel Sant'Angelo, then relax as you cruise along the river. Listen to the recorded audio commentary and admire the views as you go. Choose to stay on the cruise for the full loop (approx. 1 hour) or disembark at Isola Tiberina (Tiber Island) to see the Colosseum.
Next, maybe head to one of the eight, conveniently placed stops around the city to continue your sightseeing tour from the comfort of a hop-on hop-off bus. See the Itinerary for a full list of stops.
Take a seat on the top deck of the open-air bus and admire spectacular views of the city. Choose to stay on the bus for the entire loop (approx. 1.5 hours) or hop on and off at your leisure. Perhaps, make a stop at the famous Trevi Fountain and toss a coin into its crystal clear waters to ensure a return trip to Rome. (Please note: Trevi Fountain is under restoration until late 2015. A walkway above the central portion of the fountain will allow you to catch a glimpse of the ongoing work. Water will be drained during the process, but you'll still be able to cast your coins into the fountain for luck.)
When the time comes, head to the prearranged meeting point nearby the Colosseum to meet back up with your group. Then, board your air-conditioned vehicle and return to Civitavecchia Cruise Port in time for your ship’s departure.

Also took us a little bit to find where the bus stops but once ee did it was great

Tour guide was good . Bus driver was bad. We did not meet up with the driver until 1/12 hrs later. Consequently, the tour was rushed ! Rushed ! Rushed!
Even our guide was not happy with the driver.
Bus driver was not where he was supposed to be.
