The Trastevere food tour will take you to a mix of Rome’s most famous food stops and tiny, family-run gems, where you’ll get to meet the passionate people who are dedicated to creating this city's cuisine, talk ingredients, recipes, and traditions.
By walking and eating through this quarter, you will feel what it is like to be a Roman. This is the perfect places to taste the real Roman cuisine and to discover the spots frequented by locals.
Groups are very small (max 8 people), you will visit small businesses and you will be fully immersed in the community. All the stands, restaurants, cafes, and markets have been chosen for being part of local food system because truly local food tastes better and brings huge benefits to the community and to the environment. Preserving food cultures is important, therefore you will experience culturally significant heritage foods, customs, and recipes that come from farms, markets, restaurants and homes.
As a backdrop to your walk, Trastevere itself will surprise you, especially because you will not exclusively visit the famous squares and streets known and visited by most. You will also travel the intricate alleyways and hidden corners and go off the beaten paths.

Everything was good, the talking points seemed rehearsed.

We took this tour with just us two and our guide. She was utterly delightful! We ended up eating way more than we anticipated. Delicious!

Fun tour, easy going, but visited small local providers and got a brief history lesson to go with the food. Nice stroll around a small part of Trastevere with a fun guide.

This was an excellent tour. We were the only people on the tour and Andrea was very informative about the food from the various regions. It was also great to meet the local owners and people who take pride in their products. We took the morning tour and after all the samplings we could not eat lunch. Would definitely recommend this tour as it helps you find your way around the streets of Trastevere and also good recommendations of where to eat.

Awesome! Fab guide -- Daniele was so fun. Delicious food, wonderful area to walk around and enjoy and something we'll tell all our friends to do when they visit Rome! We loved it was a small tour in our case personal for just the two of us versus larger tours similiar in nature we ran into. Such fun! You won't regret going on this tour.

The tour was wonderful! All the food was delicious and our guide Andrea was very friendly and engaged, and clearly very passionate about food.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and tailored it to our small group of 3. Jennifer, our guide, showed us stores frequented by locals. The availability of cooked foods as well as deli shops, artisanal olive oil, balsamic vinegar and the oldest bakery in the area was delicious and impressive. Farmers market was still open at noon and tasted fresh mozzarella with sweet tomatoes. Along the way Jennifer pointed out historical sites.
