When your ship docks in Civitavecchia, meet your private driver and head off on a shore excursion to Rome. At your own leisure and expense, head to the Vatican Museums, housing some of the world’s greatest art. Explore the Tapestry Gallery and the magnificent Raphael Rooms before strolling through the Sistine Chapel, where you’ll soak in the magical atmosphere created by Michelangelo's ceiling painting the The Creation of Adam.
Next, explore St Peter's Square and see the largest church in Christendom, St Peter's Basilica. If you decide to venture inside, check out the gilded Papal Canopy suspended over the altar, where the Pope celebrates mass. Here, admire one of the best-known sculptures in the world, Michelangelo's La Piet? marble masterpiece.
After these breathtaking sites, explore Ancient Rome. Visit the Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, and drive past the Circus Maximus, Palatine Hill and the Baths of Caracalla. Visit the well-preserved Pantheon and the nearby Santa Maria Sopra Minerva church housing Michelangelo's Risen Christ. Throughout your journey, your driver will explain the history behind these incredible sites and suggest good places to stop for lunch (own expense).
Finally, stroll through the historical center of Rome, from Piazza Navona through the narrow streets to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, before ending your day with a relaxing drive back to the Civitavecchia port.

We had a a fabulous day with Leo. It was like spending a day with a Professor of Ancient Roman and Etruscan History from a top university. The four of us had been to Rome before so we asked him to take us to sights unfamiliar to us but so worth it. I highly recommend Leo

Absolutely fantastic trip, we were met by Luca at the ship and as it was a Saturday breezed into Rome :-
As it was our first visit to Rome we were flexible and just said to Luca lets do the top sites, I had bought tickets for Colleseum before direct from Colleseum site,the best way so Luca took us past the queses right up to the entry and we were in.
from then on we visited loads of decent places,Forum, Spanish Steps Pantheon,St Peters Square,Circus maximus, Trevi Fountain, where i have to apologise to Luca for nearly giving him a heart attack!...I unfortunately cut my head open going for a shortcut under some iron railings :- so staggered back to Luca's vehicle pouring blood..poor bloke though i'd been mugged!! Sorry mate! plus more..... we stopped for a brilliant italian lunch in a local restaurant and had a coffee stop earlier in the day..we stopped up in the hills for great views..Luca is a top guy, good company, knows his stuff, full of good information, gets you right close to the attractions and picks you up conveniently when you're done..no pressure and very personable...would 100 recommend booking him and we'll be sure to when we get to Rome again it really is a beautiful city...meeting him and doing this trip was a real highlight of our cruise and looking forward to seeing Luca again sometime in the future..you never know we might even get to sample mamas cooking :- :-

Leonardo was a 11 out of 10. we have been to Rome many times but learned and enjoyed the time with him more than any. Special man who knew everything about the city . he is a very happy man and delights in his presentation which was infectious! Will definitely use him again....

Our day trip to Rome with Leo was the highlight of our Mediterranean cruise vacation. He picked up the four of us at the port, and drove us to the Vatican for our 10:30 tour, making quick stops along the way to view several ruins and to visit the Trevi Fountain. He was so very knowledgeable about all of the sights and shared lots of interesting facts. He recommended a lovely little restaurant, where he actually brought out his guitar and serenaded us while we ate! After lunch, we arrived at the Colesseum for our prearranged tour. Leo used every minute that we spent together wisely, pointing out so many interesting sights. He pulled over and urged us to hop out to take a quick look at the Pantheon, pulling right up almost to the front door. No matter the questions we asked, he seemed to know the answers. Rome was wonderful, but we felt that our tour guide absolutely made the difference between having a good visit and a great one!. We highly recommend this tour company, and, of course, Leo.

We had a wonderful day with Leo, and experienced more than we had hoped. Leo gave us a great overview of the history of the area on our ride from Civitavecchia to Rome. He not only took us to each of the sites we requested, but added a number of additional areas. We had plenty of time to explore, and saw more than we would have been able to on our own. This day was one of highlights of our trip thanks to Leo, and his knowledge and enthusiasm.

We had a FABULOUS day with Luca!!! Our family of four my husband and myself and my aunt and uncle were with him and saw much more than our new friends saw on the ship's Ultimate Rome shore excursion! We had 1030 tickets to the Vatican which we got on our own. After getting into port at 0800 we arrived at the Vatican at 0930 and they didn't hold us to our tour time. Luca instructed us on the quickest way to get into the Sistine chapel, since that was the prime thing we wanted to see for the record, get into the Vatican museum and THEN stay to the right. He gave us a map and told us to call him when we were ready and he showed up within seconds!
We also had Colosseum tickets at 1330, which Luca said was perfect! He took us to the Pantheon which no one from the ship said they saw and we went in there...amazing! Also took us to a small little square where we had lunch at a little pizzeria off the beaten path. Stopped at a few other places where he took us inside and told us the history and showed us the underground ancient part of the city and we saw the Trevi fountain. Again, at the Colosseum, he met us when we were done within seconds of calling him!
To finish off the day, he brought us to a number of other places and then to the site overlooking the ruins and the landmarks of the city the place where Three Coins in the Fountain was filled...the apartment...absolutely amazing. Luca was fabulous and we'll request him if/when we ever return to Roma!

Excellent tour with Leo. This private tour was the perfect solution for getting us from our cruise ship with our luggage, onto a bespoke tour of Rome and then to Fiumicino for our flight home. Highly recommended.
