The tour begins when you meet your guide at a designated point in Vatican City. Plug in a supplied, personal headset to ensure you hear your guide clearly throughout the tour, then bypass the queues with your skip-the-line ticket and head directly inside the Vatican complex.
Your first stop is in the Vatican’s painting gallery, the Pinacoteca, home to some of the Western world's most influential pieces of art. Created for Pope Pius XI, the gallery showcases treasures, including Caravaggio’s Deposition from the Cross, Da Vinci’s unfinished St Jermone and Raphael’s Transfiguration, that your guide brings to life with fascinating stories.
Continue to the Chiaramonti Museum, founded by Pope Pius VII in the early 19th century, to learn more about some 1,000 sculptures and statues of emperors, Roman gods, and cherubs that stand proud under the arched ceilings of the gallery.
Your Vatican tour culminates when you arrive at the the Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo awe-inspiring fresco ceiling. It's also where cardinals gather to elect a new pope. Since talking inside the chapel isn't permitted, listen to your guide share the history and theories behind Michelangelo’s famous masterpieces before you head into the sacred site on your own.
Gaze upward to see the Creation of Adam fresco that shows God bringing Adam to life with the touch of his finger. Then, get close to The Last Judgement painted on the chapel’s back wall.
Please note: This tour is available Monday to Saturday. A valid disability identification card must be presented on the day of the tour. Those without walking disabilities, or those with a disability level of less than 74%, will be required to pay an entrance fee of approx. 24 euros (adult) and 16 euros (child) in addition to the cost of this guided tour. Our guide Ian was excellent, efficient, and kind. He was incredibly knowledgeable and navigated the whole tour for us with ease. He pushed my wheelchair for me and made sure I saw everything. Bravo. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Wheelchair tour was very nice. Chapel is beautiful. Still a distance to get to wheelchair rental. You should bring a pusher if you need one. A couple of steep ramps. Passing by the large crowds was very helpful. Guide was very nice.

We took a small group of friends on this tour, one in a wheelchair, one using a walker and one walking but with a bad hip. The tour guide was knowledgeable, patient and helpful, pulling the walker for long distances. The problem with this tour is the distance, for handicapped individuals trying to walk it (and the inevitable crowds). Overall, the distance was certainly several miles; ok for the person being pushed in a wheelchair, but exhausting for the person using a walker or walking with a bad hip. Viator should strongly recommend that all mobility challenged persons use or obtain a wheelchair from the Vatican Library for this tour.

Our family had a fantastic time on this tour. Our guide, Davide, was outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable and personable. We arrived later than our scheduled time but Enjoy Rome just moved us to the next available time slot. Anyone thinking of having a Vatican tour should feel quite comfortable choosing this company for the experience.

We had an excellent tour of the Vatican. Our guide Sarah was so knowledgeable and really made it easy to navigate by wheelchair. I never could have made the tour without the wheelchair access and felt fortunate to have such an informative and efficient guide.
