This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: St. Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro), Vatican City, Lazio
After meeting your guide near St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, put on your provided headset to start your papal audience experience. While the address is a Catholic custom, the event draws people of all beliefs from around the world each week.
Following your guide, navigate the crowd to reach your seat, where you’ll have views of the pope when he arrives. While you wait, learn a bit about the history of the papacy in Rome and hear about Renaissance artists like Michelangelo who left such a beautiful mark on the Vatican. With your audio headset, you don’t have to worry about not being able to hear your guide over the throngs of people.
As the address starts, listen to the cardinals leading pilgrims in prayer, and watch the pope deliver his blessings for the week. The service includes hymns, prayers and a homily. When the address is over, you'll be ready to explore St Peter’s Square on your own.
Note: Immediately after booking, you must reconfirm your ticket using the phone number provided on your confirmation voucher. The local tour operator will ask for your home address, as this is required by Vatican City. Failure to reconfirm your ticket may result in it being canceled.
Please also note that seating for the papal audience is limited. Your guide will do everything possible to secure you a seat, but on rare occasions, this may not be possible.

The papal audience was the highlight of our trip. We found our tour guide very easily. The lines were short and our tour guide was very kno. She positioned our group in a location which allowed us to see the Pope close up as he drove by in his pope mobile. We got great photos of the pope and the square.
Viator turned out to be a first class operation -
Interesting event. This was my 4th Papal audience I have attended and definitely the tour guide added to the experience with her historical incites.

One can get 'free tickets' - the hotel we stayed at provided to their guests. The time it took to meet the guide and assemble the group could have been better spent in standing in line. No special seating or preferred access as we had to wait in line with the rest of the crowd. In the end, we ended up finding our own spot that was far better than what was provided by the guide.

Everything was fine until going through security check when the guide did not wait for us. My wife uses a stick to help her walk and this was obvious to everyone in the group. Why the guide did not wait for the whole group to assemble once we were through security is a concern. We could have been unwell or have been assaulted but she was completely unconcerned about our whereabouts or welfare. I could still hear her as I was wearing my headset once inside the auditorium and did not hear her express any comments about missing any people in her group. This is clearly unacceptable when we have paid for a service which we have not ended up receiving. I suggest you review training for your guides so that this does not happen to anyone else.

Don't waste money on this tour when guide didn't speak, only guided you were the best place to sit. Use your own judgement where to sit, the whole area is free to sit in and everyone runs to the pope anyways.

I was taking my elderly mother to Rome and tried for over 2 months to secure the free tickets, with no success. Finally, I just booked via this tour and it was the best decision I made! Sure, you have to get up very early, but the experience is worth it! Our guide managed to seat us near a barrier wall where the Pope passed by twice! We made many friends with the international crowd around us, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! If you are even considering seeing the Papa when in Rome - do yourself a favor and book this tour!

We missed out on our tour because the instructions for the meeting place were not complete. We later found out we were to meet our tour guide inside the first security check which wasn't defined. All other tours were meeting their clients outside the security check and were clearly in sight for easy detection. Our meeting place, as we later discovered, was tucked away in a corner of the square outside of public view. We could have easily requested our free tickets to participate in the Papal audience. We thought we would enhance our experience through a professional tour instead. What a poor experience for us.

Truly amazing! Our tour guide (I think her name was Rafael) was awesome. She spoke great english and took care of our group so that we had the best experience possible. She got us seats right next to the aisle, where we were only a few feet from the Pope as he passed by. Great! Great! Great1

We booked our visit to Vatican City to see the Pope. Last time we visited Rome we booked our tours through Viator and we were extremely satisfied. We feel the same way this time after having another excellent Guide who made the tour very educational. We sat in the 5th row to see the Pope. Thank you Viator!

I loved having the opportunity to see the Pope and glad I did it but a tour is not needed as the person sitting beside me got in for free and had the same seats as us.
