Hop-On Hop-Off River Cruise
Board your open-air boat at either Castel Sant’Angelo, Isola Tiberina (Tiber Island), Ponte Sisto or Ponte Cavour. Listen to the recorded audio commentary as you sit back, relax and cruise along the Tiber River, admiring breathtaking views and passing under several incredible bridges as you go.
With your 24-hour ticket, hop off to sightsee at your own pace. Perhaps disembark at Isola Tiberina to see the Colosseum, where emperors used to host games to entertain the public. Usually starting with comedy acts and exotic animal displays, the games ended with gladiator fights to the death.
Hop back on the boat and cruise to Castel Sant’Angelo. Originally commissioned as a mausoleum, Castel Sant’Angelo now serves as a museum and is only a stone’s throw away from St Peter’s Church and the Vatican City.
The full-loop duration of the cruise lasts about one hour, and boats arrive every 30 minutes at both piers.

Board your bus from any of the eight routed stops, hopping off and on at your leisure. See the Itinerary for a full list of stops. Perhaps, hop off at the famous Trevi Fountain and toss a coin into the crystal clear waters to ensure a return trip to the Eternal City. Be sure to stand with your back to the fountain and toss the coin over your left shoulder with your right hand. One coin means you’ll return to Rome, two means you’ll return and fall in love, and three means that you’ll return, find love and marry.

Frequent and goes to key places like the Vatican and Castell San Angelo.2 boats were running and there was plenty of room.

Lots of traffic. Hard to find sites when getting off the bus. Not all seats had working audio terminals.

The views from the boat are absolutely magnificent! Take the late afternoon cruise to get sunset photos and sit at the top of the boat for the best view. You can't hear the tour information at the top, but with those views it doesn't matter!

Very convenient way to move about the city. Wish they had head sets rather than loudspeaker for those who have hearing issues.

A fun start to our trip! We did this the first day to get an overview of the city. Would recommend this to all ages!

Not the best boat tour we have been on, only travelled a short distance on plastic patio chairs with very little commentary and because of the high walls there was not actually that much to see. A bit disappointing!

This tour very disappointing. It is billed as a 4 stop hop on. It travelled 2 stops - went to an obscure little stop then turned around to return to first stop. When asked what's up - shrug and a 'this is the way it is'. Also, not unusual for Italian then English but English too brief - too late

Not a lot t see. The commentary was good. We were able to rest our feet though after a long walk through the city.
