Embark on a unique tour of Pompeii offered in a small group of maximum 6 people. On this 2,5 hrs journey, you will be able to visit one of the most distinctive historical sites in history with a small group and an actual archeologist as your guide. Pompeii is a city condensed with information of the ancient everyday life since it was encapsulated and buried in 79 BC by the eruption from the nearby volcano Vesuvius.
To visit Pompeii with a knowledgeable guide is essential to understand what the city really has to offer. The tour walks you through a selection of the main villas, such as: House of Menander, House of the Gladiators, House of Julie Felix, House of Loreius Tiburtinus, House of Sallust, House of the Tragic Poet, House of the Vettii Lupanar, Temple of Isis and the suburban baths. The itinerary is perfect for curious and inquiring minds that are looking to get the most out of their visit. The small groups of maximum six people enables you to achieve more out of your visit and the estimated time for this tour is 2.5 hours.

When you book a small group tour, you are guaranteed one tour guide per group of 6 people. Please bear in mind though that in order to accommodate traveling families and friends, we do on rare occasion make the exception of adding an additional one to two guests in order not to split groups who are traveling together. On that same note, you may find yourself on tour with less than six people. Maria was early to meet us and talked knowledgeably and exuberantly about Pompeii for two and a half hours. The small group was an excellent idea and the small group was only 2 people - us, as it was a Saturday in the high season and Pompeii was exceptionally crowded. She was very considerate too, it was incredibly hot we were warned - and she did check that we had water and hats, but every opportunity to stand in the shade she gave us. She also answered any questions knowledgably.

This tour was great!!! Our guide was very knowledgable and very friendly. We had a great time. I would suggest this tour to anyone going to pompeii, it's just long enough to get you a lot of information without being too long where you start to lose interest. And I think going to pompeii without a tour would be a mistake.
