This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Pompeii - Archaeological Area., Pompeii, Province of Naples, Campania
After pickup from your hotel or the Naples train station, take a 30-minute drive to Pompeii, an ancient Roman city that was entirely destroyed by the sudden eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. The largest archaeological site in Europe, today Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When you arrive, your guide will pick up your group’s pre-ordered tickets and lead you on a 2-hour walking tour of the fascinating grounds. Witness the destruction first-hand as you visit Pompeii’s most famous sites, including the Forum, the Thermal Baths, Vetti's House and the Lupanare brothel, giving you a glimpse into daily life during the Pax Romana. Today you can see shapes of objects ─ even bodies ─ that were buried beneath the volcanic ash and pumice.

After your tour, enjoy a pizza lunch with your group followed by some free time to browse the shops. Then board the coach and drive 40 minutes to legendary Mt Vesuvius.
Embark on a moderate hike up the volcano with your guide. When you reach the summit at 3,900 feet (1,200 meters), you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the picturesque Bay of Naples from east to west. Peer down into the crater and see plumes of steam issuing from the sleeping, but still active, volcano!
There is a rest point where you can choose to wait for your group if you do not wish to climb all the way to the top, but the hike is worth the effort.
After your Mt Vesuvius hike, relax on the drive back to Naples in the early evening.

Francesca was wonderful.
The amount of time allotted at each venue was good, given the overall time of the trip. Visiting both sites in one day is a feat and you need to accept the fact that your time at Pompeii will be limited. Given that, Francesca does a great job of ensuring you get a good amount of time with many highlights of Pompeii.
A great way to go if you only have one day to visit the sites.

We were collected from our hotel on time and greeted cheerfully. We collected other people on the way then arrived at Pompeii around 11:00am. Our tour guide led us around the site for 2 hours, spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable about the site and engaged really well with the whole group. Pizza lunch was very nice and served promptly. We were very impressed with the organisation of the tour - the group split after Pompeii and went onto different places. This was handled very well and everyone knew where they were to go. We then travelled on to Vesuvius and walked up to the crater. There was just enough time to get up, take some photos, visit the small shops and walk back down again. The drivers were cheerful and experienced. We both had a wonderful day out, thank you!

Pompeii was amazing and very informative, even for young kids. Vesuvius was interesting but VERY cold so bundle up. The guides were amazing. I would def recommend

A good trip with an impressive guide around Pompeii.However; I would personally prefer to organise both trips myself, once based in Naples, as the weather conditions are paramount when visiting Mt. Vesuvius

Picked up promptly at the cruise dock by bus. Great visit in Pompeii with knowledgeable guide. Trip to Mt. Vesuvius was not possible because of a landslide blocking paths. Option was given to return with a refund for that portion or continue on to Sorrento after lunch. We chose this option and spent a great time there visiting shops and the coast.

This was a two part trip, first a visit to the ruins of Pompeii and then a close look at Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano which ruined Pompeii. The tour group size was around 40, but the large comfy coach ensured that the ride was smooth. After reaching Pompeii, an English speaking guide took over for a two hour walking tour and she did her best to bring history to life. During the walk the interesting points of the ruined city was touched upon and it was really informative. Then after lunch we proceeded to Mt. Vesuvius. The 30 minute trek to the top was tough walk but offered great views of the Bay of Naples. A peek into the crater shows fumes still coming out at places. Overall the day was long and tiring but informative and interesting as well.

The group size was too large that the audio sets kept cutting in and out depending on how far away from the group leader you are. Our tour guide was also very hard to understand as his English wasn’t as clear. Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius were a definite must see, but I would recommend going with a different tour company.

Our ship was late getting into the port. the tour company did not leave without us, they waited which was a big plus for all of us. the tour guide for Pomeii was excellent. the lunch was just ok. the bus ride to Vesuvius was interesting as there was some confusion__not sure what it was but we made it there and back in time for the ships departure.

Fascinating visit to this important sight. A lot of walking on irregular surfaces, but well worth it. Can be warm as little shade available.
