Meet your guide in the morning near Castel Nuovo, an imposing fortress and former royal residence that is known locally as the Maschio Angioino. Then, together with your guide and small group, take a walk into the heart of historical Naples to experience the city’s unique street food.
As you wander, hear stories about Naples' history and its renowned cuisine, and look out for local landmarks including the grand Teatro di San Carlo, Europe’s longest running opera house. Make your first stop in a cafe opposite the opera, where you'll take part in a Neapolitan morning tradition and drink a short and strong Italian espresso.
Move on to the expansive Piazza del Plebiscito and cast your eyes upon the collection of impressive monuments that surround it, including the striking and enormous fa ade of the Royal Palace of Naples. Enter the nearby Galleria Umberto I, a stunning 19th-century shopping mall with a beautiful glass roof and mosaic floor. While in here, munch on a sweet treat ─ a fresh and hot sfogliatella pastry made with delicious layers of soft, flaky dough.
Wipe away any remaining crumbs and continue on to a nearby food market. Be introduced to an array of local specialties and browse the fresh produce at the greengrocer and fish stands. Taste another street food snack, which changes depending on season and availability, but may include 'o p□re e ‘o musso (cold meat with salt and lemon) or a pizzette (small pizza).
After leaving the market, cut down Spaccanapoli, a straight narrow street that bisects Naples Old Town. The tour ends at the centrally-located Piazza Dante. What a great way to see Naples and sample a wide variety of foods and drink. Can't say enough about our guide Sylvia who really made this a special tour. Both her knowledge of the history as we walked around the city as well as her selection of samples from special coffee and pastry to fresh sea food at the market were outstanding. I don't think we could have asked for more. Also, she provided us with some incredible recommendations for dinner which turned out to be the best we had in a city that is full of great food. Top marks

Sylvia was a great host. She educated us not only on the food of Naples, but gave us a history and culture lesson to boot! As a proud Neapolitan, she gave us a fantastic tour. The food was very good and there was so much, we could not eat all of it.

My husband and I wanted to experience the local experience and that is why we choose the tour. We walked around the city learning about Naples and eating food we wouldn't eat if we where by our self like fry pizza or cuoppo di mari.
The tour guide Silvia was punctual, very nice and knowledgeable! we where lucky the tour was just for the 2 of us.
Was a rainy February day, but that didn't stop us to have fun!
If is your first day in Naples we highly recommend this tour, you will get to walk and to know a lot about the city. -
My only complaint was there was too much food! Everything from the professor's coffee to offal I would never have tried otherwise to calzones to delicately fried bites of fish to gelato was perfect. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who would like to try anything and everything while learning the history of how these peasant foods developed to much of the comfort foods we eat today. Try it , you'll like it. No actually you'll love it. A great way to spend an afternoon in exploring Naples that left us wanting more.

Outstanding!!! Our guide was 5 star! She was so informative and accommodating. Excellent English. Would highly recommend this if you would like to see some of the off the beaten track areas of Naples. Food was excellent.

Our cruise ship docked in Naples for the day didn't want to take one of the ships large rushed bus tours found this food tour and thought we'd give it a try. So what could possibly go wrong? Nothing ... it was amazing!!! Giuseppee Joe led our small group only 2 couples on a 3 hour, easy walking tour which covered Neapolitan food, Neapolitan history, and anything you wanted to ask him. It also covered eating food and more food and more. Anyone and everyone would like this tour. Your loss if you don't try it.

My husband, mother-in-law, and I took this tour recently and enjoyed it very much. Our cruise ship docked in Naples for the day and we were seeking something different than the planned excursions our cruise offered us. This definitely fit the bill! Our tour guide Giuseppe was very informative, friendly and fun to walk and talk with while we ate our way through town. As Americans, we felt very comfortable and would recommend this to others. Just as a warning, we got very full and couldn't finish everything offered to us. So, pace yourself. :
