產品介紹
Meet your guide in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Matera and take a peek at the Sassi from above. Matera is one of the oldest towns in the world and you’ll be surprised by its original urban pattern – mostly unchanged through the centuries – and by the merge of man-made rock dwellings and natural caves.
As the town expanded, new streets were often constructed on the rooftops of other houses and it is this ‘layering’ of the Sassi houses that has created the extraordinary images for which Matera has become famous.
Start our descent into the old town and have a chance to walk through its neighborhoods and to peek into some rupestrian churches and a typical cave dwelling. These cave dwellings were lived until the 1950’s and you’ll have a chance to understand the misery of these inhabitants and see how their “unhealthy” homes have now become Luxury hotels and restaurants.
This tour will allow you to sink into an ancient - and enchanting - atmosphere and understand what life was like for its inhabitants.行程概要出發地點
