New Full Itinerary
This Lucca tour is all about experiencing the city the real way, by becoming a local for a day! Italy is famed for the importance it places on food and drink, so of course, we’ll learn about (and taste!) lots of it as we go. And along the way, we’ll uncover majestic city walls, narrow roads, tall towers, and arts and crafts shops. You’ll also realise why Lucca is known as the city of 100 churches.
Your Lucca tour will start at the city’s train station, and from there we’ll walk past the majestic city walls and enjoy a view of Lucca before diving into local life. We’ll head to the city centre, where the beautiful Romanesque marble Cathedral stands.
Our first food stop will be in a local bakery where we will try cecina, a traditional focaccia bread with unexpected ingredients, alongside a glass of Italian beer.
We’ll then head to a favourite local spot: San Michele in Foro Square. This is where locals come to meet up with one another, typically for a friendly chat in a nice coffee bar.
Lucca’s locals love going for aperitivo after work ─ meeting with friends and spending a few hours indulging in a glass of good wine and some savoury snacks. And because this tour is all about showing you local life, of course our first stop will be an old vineria, a small wine bar typical of the Tuscan tradition, where we’ll order a glass of wine with a snack.
After a few minutes of walking through the attractive streets, we will reach Amphitheatre Square, the only oval square in Italy that takes the place of the typical Roman amphitheatre. We’ll finally relax with a glass of wine or artisan beer produced in the Garfagnana mountains ─ and, of course, you can’t sample Italian wine or beer without a side of cured meats and pecorino cheese. And if you want to truly go local, then we invite you to try the typical liqueur of Lucca, Biadina, made from a secret recipe and served with pine nuts.
Your tour ends here but feel free to hang around, order another drink and soak up the lively atmosphere of the square. Before you go, don’t forget to ask your local guide for more tips on what else to see, do and eat during your stay in lovely Lucca.行程概要出發地點

Our guide was young and full of information about Lucca! We strolled around the city while stopping first for a chocolate aperitif that was delicious! It was in the back of a small shop that sold wines, chocolates, pastries, etc. I wouldn't have known that in the back was a space like being in a cave! It was small and intimate! After a bit more history, we moved on to a bar that had a beautiful back area that was outside under grape vines and trees! It was happy hour so along with your drink came a variety of tapas. Our last part of the tour ended in the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, an amazing place that used to be a Roman Amphitheatre. We had some local wine and an assortment of bruschetta which was absolutely delicious!

The combination of beautiful Lucca, delicious foods and wine and our knowledgeable guide Borana made this tour most enjoyable. Borana picked up on our special interests and adapted the tour for us.

We waited 15 minutes for late arrivals which was annoying. Our guide was okay but difficult to hear at times and not particularly enthusiastic. Would not recommend as we were disappointed with the tour.

This was a really great thing to do! We were the only two people and our guide Borana was fantastic!!
She is friendly, spoke English well and has so much knowledge of Lucca, the history, the beautiful buildings and the special places to find. We felt she really made us feel relaxed and nothing was too much trouble for her. By the time we said goodbye we felt as if a family member was leaving us. We can definitely recommend this tour, do it and enjoy it- this is excellent value for money. -
This tour was very good. Our tour guide, Clare, very knowledgeable and we finished the tour with a wonderful 'snack' in the piazza .. with wine! I would take this tour again. Highly recommend it. The 'snack' consisted of meats, cheeses and bread -- actually, enough for a meal for me.

An excellent tour for my special Birthday 60! There was only three of us on the tour, but despite this the tour still ran. The three of us was me, my husband and son. We had three guides who took us to 3 venues - one of which was amazing with grapefruit growing above our heads in the garden.
Aperitif time in Lucca is great sampling all the best wines and food. We learn't a lot about what to look for in the quality of the wine and the florentino salami with fennel seeds is fantastic. When we got home I was amazed to find it in my local Lidl's store. -
My boyfriend and I were the only ones on the tour so that was a nice surprise. We went to three places. The first was a glass of wine and a meat / cheese / and crostini platter. I purchased this tour for my bf's birthday. When our guides found out it was his actual birthday, we detoured and our second stop was a specialty chocolate shop with a backroom where we were treated to a small chocolate sampling and both a chocolate shot and lemoncello shot each. Everyone sang Happy Birthday in Italian. Very nice!! Our last stop was a local spot we ended up staying at the rest of the night and visited again the next night as we had met some locals and had a great time. Our last stop, we shared a bottle of wine and happy hour snacks. We had two guides and must say that Ciara was especially the best! Her passion for Lucca history, mixed with my bf's research, made for great conversation between them and he enjoyed this gift from me! Recommended
