This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Piazza Grande a Montepulciano, Montepulciano, Tuscany
The tour begins at 9am from the Piazza della Repubblica where you will meet your driver - guide. From there you will be driven to Montepulciano where you will have time to explore the town, its famous San Biagio Church and the Contucci cellar which boasts more than 1000 years of history. Here you will be able to take part in a wine tasting before traveling onwards to Montalcino, departing at around noon.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Montalcino 564, Montalcino, Tuscany
The first stop on this section of the trip will be Piombaia ( or a similar property) wine farm, where you’ll enjoy a private lunch and some of the farm’s own wine. The lunch will include appetizers, a pasta dish and dessert. During lunch you will be able to take part in a wine tasting where you’ll experience three different types of Brunello wine.

Stop At: Historic Centre of the City of Pienza, Tuscany
Next, visit the Renaissance hill town Pienza, which affords incredible views over the Orcia Valley. Pienza is also well known for the cheese produced here and called Pecorino from Pienza, that you may taste in one of the many small and charming shops around the town selling this famous local cheese.Then it is off to the medieval hill town of Montalcino. It boasts beautiful views over the surrounding valleys. You will be able to walk through its charming city centre and see its medieval fortress guided by your driver who will walk with you.

What an incredible and very worthwhile tour of Tuscany. Our guide, Giacomo, was so knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area . He spoke about the history of the surrounding villages and of the wine in the regions. One highlight was when we visited a 1,000 year old winery in Montepulchiano, and our guide was greeted joyfully by the winemaker, Adamo, the winemaker, who then gave us a tour of the wine cellar. There were only four of us in our small group, which was really wonderful - as we were meeting up in the square, we saw several other much larger groups of 20 meeting for their wine tours. The Brunello di Montalcino wines we tasted were so excellent, and our lunch was delicious! We are so happy that we treated ourselves to this amazing day!

This tour was great! We drove about an hour and a half each way and stopped in the 2 wine towns, as well as Pienza which was between them not on the itinerary, but very cute town!. The wineries were very interesting and the tastings were generous. The second winery was a biodynamic farm and they served us lunch. The wine was really good. We also got free time for about 20 mins in each town to stroll about and see the sights. We even got to go inside an old castle. We also stopped on the side of the road for some great Tuscan countryside photos. Our guide was full of information and was really helpful. No negatives on our experience.

Great Time, great Guide, but I was not really impressed by the wineries selected. I've on other tours in the area and this was not my favorite. The wine tasting was saved by our guide by having us sample wines and markets near by!

A very enjoyable tour into the beautiful Tuscany hillsides. Our guide Jacamo was a sweetheart. The two hill towns were nice to visit although there was only one true vineyard where we looked at growing grapes, asked questions, and had lunch. It was a nice change of pace if you were staying in Florence for more than three days. They ran the tour with only four people in our SUV so very relaxing.

An excellent guide/driver and a small group made this tour excellent. The lunch and wine tasting were excellent. Would highly recommend.

Our guide, Giacomo, was great. He gave a history of the surrounding villages and about the history of the wine in the regions.
We were early to the first winery in Montepulchiano, so he took us to another one while we waited which was very accommodating. Then we went to the winery we had intended and it was nice to see the two different versions of the same wines. We had a nice time wandering down through the village, though I wish we could have spent more time there.
Then onto the Montalchino area winery where we had several great wines and what really turned out to be a four course lunch. Very delicious and filling. And the wine glasses were refilled quite generously.
After that, we went to Montalchino and walked around the town. This was smaller that the first town, but very charming.
Lastly, we went to the Abbey to see the sights. The sound inside of the Abbey was amazing. Shame the Monks were not chanting while we were there.
Overall, it was a great tour and a lot of fun with a chance to taste some of the wines outside of the Chianti blend and see some of the hill towns. -
Although this Tuscany wine tour was more expensive than others and had only two reviews, we took a chance and booked it because it concentrated on Montepulciano and Montalcino instead of trying to cram them in with a tour of Chianti. We took a 3.30 Euro bus to Greve on another day. It was the right choice. Giaccomo, our driver, gave us a thorough education on Tuscan wines and the region in excellent English. We had generous tastings at the Contucci winery in Montepulciano and with the delicious but light lunch at the Piombaia winery near Montalcino. There was enough time to explore the two towns, and we felt that it had been a perfect day.

Excellent tour. Guide did exceptional job. Meeting the vintners was a real treat. The smaller the group, the better. We had four people and it was a perfect size for the experience. Give this tour a full five stars

Giacomo was a gem He was fun and informative and seemed like he really cared for what he was doing. He was very knowable and personable. He is definitely an asset to your company. We wish we were able to have him on the other tours we took
