Discover the world of wine, riding a bike through the Tuscan countryside.
A once-in-a-lifetime experience that will let you enjoy a small-group exclusive wine tour in the most nature-oriented way: riding a bike through the gentle hills of Chianti wine region.
This professionally guided wine tour and fully supported bike ride in the Tuscan countryside begins with a comfortable shuttle transportation out of the busy city center. In about 25 minutes you’ll reach the starting point for your bike ride, immersed in the Chianti wine region.
Riding the bicycles, we will lead you along scenic countryroads hemmed in ancient olive groves and vineyards.
Tuscan hilltops and hillside villa estates are all part of the breathtaking panoramic views you will see as you ride your bike through the heart of Tuscany.
Stops for photo opportunities will be made along the way.
Half-way, a break will give you the opportunity to relax and enjoy a delicious picnic surrounded by nature: under the shades of cypresses, olive trees and oaks you will taste croissants and discover the magical flavor of one of Tuscan culinary treasures: bread with salt and extra-virgin olive oil, simplicity turned into a masterpiece for the senses.
You will visit two wineries, completely different in their settings and approach: a famous winery with its spectacular cellar, producing some of the most renowned Chianti wines, and a small fascinating boutique winery.
Learn the techniques of production, ageing, storing and bottling wine and olive oil.
Once back at the ride starting point, you will enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch in a restaurant, immersed in nature, tasting the incredible wines of the wineries you just visited (both wineries boast international recognitions and awards), and learning wine pairing.
The bike itinerary includes flat, downhill and uphill sections, to give you a complete variety of views and biking experiences.
Having a van always following the group, you can decide yourself how you want to approach the biking part of this experience. If you feel fit enough, you can join it as an intermediate level bike ride, with some interesting uphill sections. If you want to join it in a more relaxed mode, you can still enjoy most of the biking itinerary (just the flat and downhill sections), relying on the van assistance for the couple of short uphill parts.
Mileage: 10 miles round-trip (about 15 kms)
Terrain: Mostly paved back roads with little traffic, some white roads
Difficulty: INTERMEDIATE (can be done in EASY MODE, mostly downhill, using the minivan support to help in the few short uphill sections)

Good trip, I was expecting to see more than one vineyard but it was only one The food at the end was good, nothing exceptional.
The road was easy, with few stops to take some pictures. -
This experience was well worth the money. We landed up being the only people on this tour which made it even better.
The weather was amazing and our guide was very knowledgeable. The wine and the food were amazing!!! The views spectacular. -
Great guide called Johnny. Lovely to see the countryside from a bicycle enthusiast who had lots of local knowledge. Loved the explanation of the wines and food. My only recommendation would be that the bicycles could have more comfortable seats.

Really disappointed by this tour. Bike issues - tires not inflated, brakes not adjusted. Route was rough road or busy road - could have been much better given the options in Tuscany. A few people wouldn't ride on the busy road because they were uncomfortable.
The guide got in the van because she didn't want to do the uphill. Lunch was OK but not exceptional. Sorry to say - I can't recommend this trip.

Great tour with Olimpia as our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide! She was extremely helpful and friendly, and did not judge us when we were struggling up some hills hahaha. The tour was just slightly strenuous but it felt good to be active. The tour of the vineyard/winery was interesting and beautiful. The buffet lunch that followed the bike tour was delicious.

My husband and I agree that this was the best tour on out three-week trip. The day started out rainy, so we weren't even sure the tour would happen, but the clouds cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful October day. Daniel, our guide, was wonderful and really knew a lot about Tuscan wine. This is not an easy bike ride. There are some killer hills and some pretty gnarly gravel roads, but it's not dangerous if you're smart and it's totally worth the effort. My husband and I are in our 50s and even with his very bad knee, we never had to resort to the sag wagon. The countryside is absolutely gorgeous and the wine tasting and lunch at the end were superb. We took wine home with us. Highly, highly recommend.

Guide Leo great. Great scenery and lunch. Beware the tour is strenuous- long uphill riding although no pressure on slowies to keep up
Much is on roads with cars and some bikes in less than perfect order. -
Tour guide (Leo) was knowledgeable and friendly. Such a great way to soak in Tuscany. I really enjoyed having the option to bike up the challenging hills, but the van is there to jump into if your legs are toast. Great trip, highly recommend.

The bike tour was fun BUT very difficult climbs on Tuscany. Not an easy carefree ride as described. We also were unaccounted for on the return trip. The whole experience was fun but a bit unorganized. Mario made up for it at the main office which we appreciated very much.
