On this Classical Bologna Private Walking Tour you'll discover why Bologna has so many nicknames, including La Dotta (The Learned), for its ancient university; La Rossa (The Red), for the warm colors of its roofs and houses, and La Grassa (The Fat), for the wonderful food you'll find here!
This private walking tour takes you to see some of the most important buildings in the city, including Palazzo Accursio, Palazzo del Protesta, the Sala Borsa, Palazzo re Enzo and the famous Fountain of Neptune which dates back to the 16th century. Additionally, you'll view the Medieval Market and Loggia Dei Mercanti, the Anatomy Theater (closed Saturday afternoon and Sunday), Basilica of San Petronio, the Archiginnasio, the medieval Two Towers and the Complex of Santo Stefano.
If you have a little extra time to explore the city, an extended tour may include San Giacomo, the Oratory of Santa Cecilia, San Domenico of the Sanctuary of San Luca.

Camilla was our tour guide and she efficiently maximized our time with a great overview tour of Bologna. She is a local who attended the University of Bologna. We stopped here between Florence and Milan, using TrenItalia, left our luggage at the train station pricey, but worth it, guarded the entire time, walked to the meeting point, did the tour, which also highlighted where we could double-back to explore more on our own. Our guide gave us a wonderful restaurant recommendation so we could enjoy real Bolognese in Bologna for lunch. Well worth the stop,

My husband and I had a great time on this tour. We were the only two people, and Fabio our guide, was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Our tour went well beyond its five hours, and he took us to some amazing places. Bologna is a wonderful city, and this is the best way to see it.

We enjoyed our overview of Bologna. Our guide did a nice job of giving us options for learning about the city. What a beautiful place, full of history,energized by the University and music. We spent a few days there, but could easily go back to continue exploring.

Cinzia is an outstanding guide--knowledgeable, articulate, engaged, personable, and flexible in answering our questions and adjusting the tour to our particular interests. Bologna's neighborhoods and almost infinite secondary sights are definitely best experienced with a guide who adds so much detail that one simply could not know or even notice on your own. This tour was a wonderful follow-up to a prior day and a half exploring Bologna on our own. We highly recommend the tour and Cinzia.

This Private Tour was taken on March 29, 2017. Camilla was our Tour guide. She was knowledgeable and informative, an excellent guide, so I learned a lot about Bologna thanks to Camilla. My opinion is this 6 hr. Tour is a must. Mille grazie, Camilla!

Guide was great. Good tour. Disappointed in the lack of ongoing communication from local guide coordinator. I was unsure of meeting place until I accidently found the guide waiting in the hotel lobby. Received confirming information on my iphone AFTER returning from the tour Time on the messages were both after scheduled departure time. Not very helpful.
