Your full-day wine tour starts in the morning from the tourist office in central Strasbourg. Board your luxury minivan with your expert guide, and leave the busy city behind as you travel along the beautiful Alsace Wine Route (Route des Vins d'Alsace). The 105-mile (170-km) stretch of road snakes through the bright-green foothills of the Vosges mountains and features hundreds of Alsace’s prized vineyards. You’ll be treated to views of rolling vine-covered hills and quaint red-roofed villages around every turn.
Stop in the Mittelbergheim wine area, home to the Zotzenberg, Kastelberg and Wiebelsberg grands crus. The soils here are perfect for producing Riesling wine ─ a varietal known as a German wine but produced extensively in Alsace. Head to your first winery to taste a selection of Alsatian wines including Pinot blanc, Sylvaner and Riesling.
Continue to Dambach-la-Ville, the largest wine-producing village in Alsace, whose vineyards produce one of the finest Alsatian wines: frankstein grand cru. Enjoy a second tasting session at a traditional caveau (wine cellar) and hear how the area’s soil creates crisp Riesling and gew□rztraminer wine.
After some free time for lunch (own expense), depart for the Ribeauvill□-Riquewihr wine area, surrounded by five grand cru appellations: Geisberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg, Schoenenbourg and Sporen. Riesling grapes reign supreme here, but pinot gris, Muscat and gew□rztraminer varietals are also excellent.
Visit the picturesque medieval villages of Ribeauvill□ and Riquewihr for your last wine-tasting session at some of the most highly praised wineries in the region. Learn about famous local wine growers including the Trimbach family and Hugel family, who have been producing wine here for centuries!

My sister and I were promptly met by Olivier at the tourism office. To our surprise, he spoke English fantastically well. Even better, he used to be a professional wine taster and taught us how to more fully taste the flavors of the many different wines. The views were unforgettable. The wines were amazing. In the future, I think I would stick to a half day wine tasting... I didn't feel as though I showed the last winery the same appreciation as the rest.

We had a great day visiting wineries and small towns of the Alsace Wine Route where we could not have reached on our own. The 3 wineries we went were all different in size, so it made the experience very special. Special thanks to Pauline, our wonderful guide, who was open and knowledgeable both about each location and about wine! She was also helpful in contacting the agent for sending wine overseas. The small group idea is excellent!

Fantastic tour! Our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was incredible and seeing the beautiful countryside was amazing.

What a perfect way to see this part of France. Danielle, our guide, drove our small group to not only out of the way wineries but beautiful villages we would not have otherwise seen. One member of our group knew a lot about wine and said his favorite stop was a small, family operated winery where the son was in the process of taking over for his parents who lovingly watched him make the presentation. The wine was excellent. Each stop was unique and presented a different perspective. Between stops Danielle provided information about the region and listened to our interests, finding beautiful vistas for the photographers in our group. It was a terrific day!

This was great! Comfortable transport, small group 6 of us in total, great guide. Little villages, really interesting vineyards especially the organic one that really lets you explore how different soils impact the minerality of white wines.

We had such a great day wine tasting with our guide Pauline and another couple. Pauline was an absolute delight...so friendly and knowledgeable and a great driver! The wineries we visited especially the first one were charming and it was amazing to interact with the wine makers and hear their stories. It was one of our most favorite days in Alsace! Highly recommend this tour if you are a wine lover.

My boyfriend and I ended up being the only two on the tour with Alvaro. His knowledge of the Alsace region and its wines is expansive, and he catered the experience to fit our interests and tastes. Unforgettable experience!
