Meet your guide in Paris' St-Germain-des-Pr□s district and set off on your jazz-themed walking tour. St-Germain-des-Pr□s and the neighboring areas of the Latin Quarter and Les Halles boast a jazz heritage dating back to the 1920s, and many of the great jazz musicians from France and abroad had regular slots in the underground bars and clubs here.
Listen to an introduction on the history of jazz in Paris from your guide as you walk to Les Deux Magots and Caf□ de Flore, two of Paris' most famous cafes that were very popular among jazz musicians, writers, intellectuals and artists in the early days. Pause to take a look at the former location of the Club St-Germain-des-Pr□s, where many of the French and American greats used to play. Numerous gigs took place in cellar bars just like this one, earning jazz fans the nickname troglodytes, or cave-dwellers.
See the hotel where 1920s and 30s jazz men such as Kenny Clarke and Bud Powell often held late-night jam sessions after their gigs. Clarke’s loose, improvisational bebop drum style opened the genre up to wider variations, and it was here that the style of sound was perfected. Later you'll see where Powell used to play his signature bebop jazz piano shows, at Le Chat Qui P□che.
Stand at the site of the legendary Le Tabou club, where French songwriter and musician Boris Vian introduced the club’s hip crowd of playwrights, existentialists, movers and shakers to the American jazz greats in the early 1950s. Veering through the bustling Latin Quarter, stop for a drink at local cafe and hear stories about the development of jazz in Paris ─ the Chanson Fran aise style of French folk music dominated the pre WWI era, but when jazz arrived in 1919, there was a clash between traditionalists and those who preferred the new jazz movement.
Visit Paris' oldest jazz club, Le Caveau de la Huchette, and then cross the Seine River via the Pont Neuf to the area of Les Halles for the finale of your tour: dinner and a jazz concert at Le Duc des Lombards, one of Paris' most prominent jazz clubs. Sit down to a 3-course dinner (see sample menu below) and let the smooth, sultry sounds of jazz flow over you during a 1.5-hour live performance.行程概要出發地點

Simply amazing!
-
It was great wandering the streets of Paris with the guide pointing out many things. The jazz session at the Duc du Lombards was very good, the food quite good.
-
We had a wonderful tour. Our guide gave insightful history and being a musician himself helped cover the current jazz scene. We felt comfortable with our guide while walking through many areas of the city we had not visited before.
The jazz club had a front row table reserved for us. Great tour! -
Great tour...

This never happened. I was at the appointed meeting spot and was there for an hour, never finding anyone that remotely resembled a guide. I had left several voice mails that night and had sent email to no avail. I received no communication in return. This was extremely disappointing to me.

My wife and I had a fantastic time on the tour. Laurent had a rich background of knowledge of all places we visited - he made St Germain come alive with jazz greats of the past. The club was fantastic - an intimate gathering of music lovers enjoying some outstanding New Orleans jazz. We will definitely go on this tour again.
-
Excellent show, great guide and outstanding evening in Paris. Perfect for jazz lovers and history buffs looking to understand World War I and II night life and entertainment. High quality dinner and bottle of wine, too.

Laurent was a very informative guide who led us around the Saint Germain des Pres area, showing us jazz clubs and filling us in on the history of jazz in Paris. The dinner and music at the Duc Des Lombards was fantastic! The Joscho Stephan Trio were great. I highly recommend this club, the attentive waiter, the great music. Really worthwhile evening.

Great food and excellent music.

Worst evening I have had, After all the drama, of the cancelling my ticket last minute, all I got
- a tour with just me,
- was a walk around for an hour not 3 as promised,
- stopped for a drink which I paid for both of us
- dumped at a Concert left to sit on my own, I thought this was going to be a tour with other people. After I specifically told the guide my preferences being Trad or blues, I totally dislike Modern Jazz and put it in the same category as Rap Crap or Techno rubbish, that I didnt consider it music just noise as there is nothing tuneful about it, I was assured that this would not be the case.
- The food was mediocre at best
- I had to send the wine back because it was undrinkable they then after complaining sent me a drinkable one
- To top it off Modern Jazz ! I asked if there was going to be other music I was told that this was it,So I left after the first bracket, my ears couldnt take any more, I feel totally ripped off. I thought that it was going to be a walking tour around different Jazz clubs experiencing different music etc. instead all it was, was a walk around closed venues, and just pointed as to where it happens, and left at the worst venue, my ears are still recovering.
