Your 3-hour tour starts in the heart of Paris’ Bastille district, home to one of the most authentic and traditional Parisian markets March□ d’Aligre. After meeting your knowledgeable guide, set off on a leisurely walking tour around the area, visiting quality artisan delicatessens and off-the-beaten-path sights, as well as the famous market itself.
Venture inside some of Paris’ best patisseries to sample exquisite French pastries and chocolates, and head to an iconic wine bar that is known for serving fresh oysters alongside crisp glasses of muscadet wine. Throughout your small-group tour, you’ll enjoy six different food tastings in gourmet shops and at the market.
March□ d’Aligre lies right in the heart of the Bastille district, and is sure to be the highlight of your morning. Consisting of two parts -- a covered area called March□ Beauveau and an open-air square -- the cosmopolitan market is huge and knowing what spots to visit can be tricky. Luckily, your expert guide will be there to show you to the best stalls! You’ll also have time to browse the market independently, shopping for all your gourmet desires.
Before your tour ends, your guide will introduce you to a little-known elevated garden walkway that was created from old train tracks. Enjoyed hearing about the history of the Bastille District. The samplings were great. One of the places we stopped at, Bleu. Sucre, had the most divine pastries. The KouignAmman pastry was the best I have ever had in my life. This patisserie is recommended by David Leibovitz. The tour guide was quite charming and quite knowledgeable.

Our guide was a charming Parisian who spoke very good English. We loved the variety of places that she chose for our tour.

I gave it the lowest possible rating because, although our party was at the appointed meeting place well in advance of the scheduled tour time, and we waited an hour, the tour guide never showed up. Please credit my American Express card the 400 that I was charged for the tour that never happened.

A great half day out exploring the Bastille areas food and history. Our guide was excellent - no question left unanswered. The food we tasted was delicious and plentiful. Paired with a gorgeous wine in a small but impressive wine bar I couldn't complain.

Our Guide Caroline was superb, her English was excellent and she was very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The tour itself was very informative, from the amazing breads in the Boulangerie to the Red wine and Tarte flambe and the tour of the market seeing the sights and sounds of the Bastille area, Even the rain did not dampen our good time, would recommend this to anyone wanting to get a taste of how the real Parisiens live

Interesting tour of restaurants and markets in the Bastille district. Charlotte was very knowledgeable about foods, bread, coffee, and wine in the area. Very pleasant tour.

Charlotte was an absolute cracker of a guide with knowledge, enthusiasm and energy. It was great to learn about various French specialities and then shop for myself in the markets afterwards for my time in Paris in my studio. I throughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend this tour and Charlotte in particular as your guide.
