Choose from a morning or afternoon half-day tour then head to Pyramides in central Paris, hop aboard your air-conditioned coach and set off through the city for the 1-hour journey to the famous Palace of Versailles.
Pass By: The Hall of Mirrors, Versailles, Yvelines, Ile-de-France
Louis XIII of France first ordered the construction of Versailles as a hunting lodge, but it was his successor ─ Louis XIV ─ whose ambition turned it into one of the largest and most opulent palaces in the world. Construction took place between the years 1664 and 1710, and the Palace of Versailles stands today among the most beautiful buildings in Europe.
On arrival at Versailles, enjoy skip-the-line access to beat the queues and begin your tour. (Visitors to Versailles have the option of seeing the summer fountain shows on certain days too, so plan ahead to make the most of your trip!)
Follow your guide through the impressive splendour of the King and Queen's State Apartments and gaze in awe at the luxurious decadence the monarchs enjoyed. The apartments were the private residences of King Louis XIV and Queen Marie Antoinette, and the part of the palace where they would have spent most of their time.
Explore the apartments of the dauphin and the dauphine (titles given to the future heirs of the French throne) and admire their stately majesty. Marvel at the drawing rooms, bed chambers and private studies, and gain insight into life as heir to the throne in 17th- and 18th-century France.
Continue through to the spectacularly beautiful Hall of Mirrors ─ widely considered to be the Palace of Versailles’ most remarkable feature ─ and listen as your guide describes its many significant fixtures and fittings. Constructed from 1678, the Hall of Mirrors is the palace’s central gallery and links the Salon de la Guerre and the Salon de la Paix with the King and Queen's State Apartments.

Enjoy a little free time at the end of your tour to stroll through the beautifully manicured palace gardens at your leisure. Admire the many royal statues, busts and sculptures you come across, and take the time to capture the scenery on camera. Every Saturday night during the summer months, visitors can also enjoy the Versailles fountain shows, during which magnificent displays reveal the skill and artistry of three centuries of French garden design and engineering. The display is accompanied by music composed at the time of Louis XIV's court.
At the end of your time at the spectacular Palace of Versailles, hop back in your coach for the short journey back to central Paris where your tour will come to an end

Enjoyable trip with engaging guide. Time however is very short there , no Time to walk the gardens. Time shown includes travel to and from Versailles.

Versailles is a wonderful place to visit. This tour was too short. We rushed through the rooms and then there was about 50 minutes left to see the gardens. if you want to enjoy Versailles look for a longer tour

Never saw the palace. The instruction not ckear. It should read meeting place instead directions. We took the metro directly to the palace. Once arrived the employees were very helpful and took us to B section and even tried to find the tour guide.

Very short trip and felt very rushed. We were travelling with a baby. The tour guide did not tell us that strollers were not allowed inside the palace and so we had to check it in at security when we could have just left it in the bus. Tour guide did not know where we had to pick up the stroller and left us on our own to figure it out. They gave us less than 1 hour to see the gardens. The garden is really huge and its a good 10 min walk to get to the gardens from the palace exit and a good 10 min walk back to the parking lot. So we only had half hour to see the gardens which was definitely not enough. The tour guide told us the bus number and the time to get back to the parking lot. We go to the spot where they dropped and we were unable to find the bus. We were running around the huge parking lot trying to find the bus with a baby and they conveniently moved it to another parking spot. Absolutely disappointing!

Very disappointed with the large size of the group and the expertise of the guide. The gardens were stunning but the palace was so crowded that you couldn't see anything. Our guide got into a shouting match with another guide. It was very disorganized and there was lots of wasted time that could have been used better. We spent time standing around in one spot and then another while things were discussed and figured out. Very glad I went to Versailles, but Citytours was a disappointment.

Loved this tour! We were taken in a comfortable air conditioned bus out of the city to Versailles then were able to walk right in. We paid the extra for the fountain show and gardens which was well worth the money. The Palace is amazing but VERY crowded. Our only challenge was that English was not our guides first language. Many times she had no idea how to say something in English so she would say never mind or it's not important it was more funny than anything. She was very knowledgeable and had all kinds of stories. Note that this is a 4 hour tour. If you want to spend more time walking around the groves and gardens this is not the tour for you. We thought the time was perfect and we did not need longer.

This experience was good and bad. The buses were great, the tour guide had lots of knowledge however the pick up / drop off location was so busy and congested as was Versailles. The tour was very rushed and we had to push and bump with other tourists who were not part of our tour. We were not happy to be so rushed and hurried through. There was no time to see the gardens and no time for any shopping at all.

We arrived at the PARIS CityVISION office, which was a relatively large facility with ticket desks and seating for waiting tourists. Buses collected passengers out front. They did not have rest rooms for customer use. We were directed to a restaurant across the street and instructed to buy something there in order to use the facilities.
Our bus transported English-, French-, and Spanish-speaking guests to Versailles. Carine, who guided the English-speaking guests, gave us each a headset to use to follow her narrative.
The first part of the tour was through the Gardens, where we caught the Fountain show. The tour description provided by Viator used expressions like, stroll through the statue-filled palace gardens at your leisure, and ...after your free time in the Versailles garden... so imagine our surprise when Carine warned us it was a two-mile escorted walk and she gave us the chance to opt out. Evidently taking the Fountain Show option means a brisk walk through the gardens with a brief stop at each of the fountains. No one opted out we all paid for it, right?.
Two members of our party had a great deal of trouble keeping up with Carine. One pulled out of the following Palace portion of the tour because he was afraid it, too, would be strenuous and another my husband could not keep up and put us so far behind he and I lost the group though, happily, we chose the correct path to rejoin the group. A check for laggards maybe a count of participants might have made it less stressful.
The entire group's headsets did not work through the whole Gardens portion of the tour. Carine's voice kept going in and out, so we heard very little about the Gardens or the historical information she referred to later. When we arrived at the Palace, she was able to switch out her equipment and we did have perfect reception throughout the Palace portion of the tour.
It was much easier to keep up in the Palace. The pace was much slower, and seats were sometimes available to those in need. The Palace and Carine's descriptions of each area were impressive and informative.
We are happy we made the trip to Versailles, however the faulty equipment and surprise activity level were disappointing.
